Titus, An Insignificant Gentile (Non-Jew).
Very little is known about Titus. Paul’s letter to him was written while Paul was in his fourth missionary journey, and probably was dated between A.D. 62 to A.D. 64. Titus was a Gentile who had accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior through the teachings of Paul. Titus is not mentioned in the Book of Acts, but he was taken to Jerusalem by Paul early in his missionary work. It was there that Paul refused to have Titus circumcised. It appears that Titus traveled with Paul on his second and third missionary journeys, and accompanied him during part of Paul’s fourth missionary journey. Titus was trusted by Paul to deal with delicate situations that were taking place in the early church.
Consider Noah.
Genesis. Chapter 7:1, “Then the Lord said to Noah, “Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation.” 4, “For after seven more days I will cause it to rain on the earth forty days and forty nights, and I will destroy from the face of the earth all living things that I have made.” 7, So Noah, with his sons, his wife, and his sons’ wives, went into the ark because of the waters of the flood. 10, And it came to pass after seven days that the waters of the flood were on the earth. 13, …Noah and Noah’s sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and Noah’s wife and the three wives of his sons with them, entered the ark. 21And all flesh died that moved on the earth: birds and cattle and beasts and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, and every man. 22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, all that was on the dry land, died. 23 So He destroyed all living things which were on the face of the ground: both man and cattle, creeping thing and bird of the air. They were destroyed from the earth. Only Noah and those who were with him in the ark remained alive. Chapter 8:14 And in the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dried. 15 Then God spoke to Noah, saying, 16 “Go out of the ark, you and your wife, and your sons and your sons’ wives with you.” Chapter 9: 18 Now the sons of Noah who went out of the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And Ham was the father of Canaan. 19 These three were the sons of Noah, and from these the whole earth was populated.
Consider Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
Shem was the father of the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Ham was the father of such people groups as those who settled in Ninevah, Babylon, and Sodom and Gomorrah. Japheth was the father of the people groups of Gomer, Magog, Tubal, and Meshech (Genesis Chapter 10).
Consider The Descendants Of Abraham.
From the twelfth chapter of Genesis we see that God led the descendants of Jacob, the semetic people, the Hebrews, the Jews. Consequently, the families of Ham and Japheth did not know, “intimately,” the teachings of the Jews, which included the law that God gave to Moses, the feasts of the Jews, and the covenants. It also included the prophetic scriptures that pointed to Jesus as being the Messiah.

Galatians 2:1-3, The Council at Jerusalem – Titus, A Gentile, Prevented By Paul From Being Circumcised 1Then after an interval of fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus along also. 2It was because of a revelation that I went up; and I submitted to them the gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but I did so in private * to those who were of reputation, for fear that I might be running, or had run, in vain. 3 But not even Titus, who was with me, though he was a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised. Acts 15:19-20, Declaration Of James (Brother Of Jesus, Leader Of Jerusalem Church): 19″Therefore it is my judgment that we do not trouble those who are turning to God from among the Gentiles, 20 but that we write to them that they abstain from things contaminated by idols and from fornication and from what is strangled and from blood.
Acts 15:28-29, Letter Of Declaration To The Churches: 28 “For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay upon you no greater burden than these essentials : 29 that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled and from fornication ; if you keep yourselves free from such things, you will do well. Farewell.”
Summation Of Council Of Jerusalem: Salvation is by faith through grace. Gentiles are not under the law, but should avoid giving offense to Godly Jews. Titus was a part of this test case.

Titus 1:5, Appoint Elders: For this reason I left you in Crete, that you would set in order what remains and appoint elders in every city as I directed you,
Titus 1:10-14, Correct False Teaching 10For there are many rebellious men, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, 11who must be silenced because they are upsetting whole families, teaching things they should not teach for the sake of sordid gain. 12One of themselves, a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.” 13This testimony is true. For this reason reprove them severely so that they may be sound in the faith, 14 not paying attention to Jewish myths and commandments of men who turn away from the truth.
