ETS Thought 032014, The Day of Preparation – The Lord’s Sabbath Day

In the morning (Friday), we will wake up to the Day of Preparation. We will progress throughout the day and enter into the Lord’s Sabbath at sundown. Begin your preparation for the Day of Preparation and the Lord’s Sabbath this evening through prayer. Pray that God will lead you through a day of Holy Communion with Him as you go throughout the day. Pray that God will lead you through the next day of, “darkness, dawn, daylight, dusk, and darkness,”and that you will be drawn into a closer and more intimate walk with God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.)

I want to encourage all of you to be present at our church service tomorrow evening (Friday), at 6:30 PM, as the Day of Preparation ends, and the Lord’s Sabbath begins. For those of you who do not attend our Church services, I am asking you to pray for God to lead us into greater intimacy with Him as we worship Him, and acknowledge that “God declared and made the Sabbath Day Holy.” The day is about God; let’s keep that truth as our focus of worship. Please read the scriptures below, very carefully, and keep your focus on the words that are written. Seek truth. Be a Berean.

Genesis 2:1-3
King James Version (KJV)
2 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Exodus 20:8-11
King James Version (KJV)
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Mark 15:42 New Living Translation
This all happened on Friday, the day of preparation, the day before the Sabbath. As evening approached,

Luke 23:54 New Living Translation
This was done late on Friday afternoon, the day of preparation, as the Sabbath was about to begin.

John 19:14 New International Version
It was the day of Preparation of the Passover; it was about noon. “Here is your king,” Pilate said to the Jews.

John 19:31 English Standard Version
Since it was the day of Preparation, and so that the bodies would not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken and that they might be taken away.

John 19:42 New Living Translation
And so, because it was the day of preparation for the Jewish Passover and since the tomb was close at hand, they laid Jesus there.

Acts 17:11 New International Version
Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.

Now, let’s come into the Presence of God.

In The Presence Of Jehovah

John 4:24 New American Standard Bible

“God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” (all of us, for all of Him)

Author: Eternity

Things are discussed in this website that relate to God's creation, from "eternity to eternity," and all that is addressed within those paramaters. Consider Isaiah 43:13, "Even from eternity I am He, And there is no one who can rescue from My hand; I act, and who can reverse it?” The Moody Study Bible adds a comment: "God is the ruler of all, and there is nothing that can stand against Him. His will is irresistible. The Bible Knowledge Commentary adds this thought: "No one can reverse what God puts into action or thwart His plans."
