Most of us have heard the song, “Lookin’ For Love…In All The Wrong Places.” In the movie, “Fireproof,” Caleb Holt is looking on the internet; Catherine, his wife, is looking in a hospital. Neither of them is looking to God for the answers to their marriage problems. It’s important for us to remember to “keep our glance on the problem and our gaze on God.”
In the movie, Caleb is a very heroic fireman who is locked in a failing marriage. He accepts his father’s challenge to take part in a 40-day experiment designed to teach both husband and wife the true meaning of commitment. In this faith-based marriage drama the roles of the husband and wife are played by Kirk Cameron and Erin Bethea. Kirk said his commitment to his marriage means that he won’t take part in scenes where he will be required to kiss a female co-star. In this movie the actual wife of Kirk Cameron plays the part of Catherine in the scene where Caleb kisses Catherine.
Check out the introduction to the movie where some key thoughts are presented. One such thought is, “never leave your partner behind.”

1 Corinthians 7:5 New Living Translation
Do not deprive each other of sexual relations, unless you both agree to refrain from sexual intimacy for a limited time so you can give yourselves more completely to prayer. Afterward, you should come together again so that Satan won’t be able to tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
