This passage is the first one that mentions the Sabbath, 2513 years since the “seventh day” was mentioned. Only the Jews were present when the teachings of the Sabbath were made by God….to Moses…to only the Jews… Read Exodus 16:1-21. Read the follow groups of scriptures that relate to the Lord’s Sabbath as it related to the Jews…to only the Jews.

The Sabbath is Holy to the Lord; to be kept by the children of Israel. The Sabbath is to be a sign between God and the children of Israel, forever. In six days God made the heavens and the earth. Consider the word “day.” In every instance of “day” in Exodus 31:15-17, the Hebrew word is “Yom,” (3117) which means “day.” (See below, for a Hebrew explanation of day.)

Notice that the phrase “and the evening and the morning,” were the first day, etc… The Sabbath begins on the evening (sunset) of Friday of each week and lasts until the evening (sunset) of Saturday of each week. There is no great length of millions of billions of years in between the evening and morning of each day of creation. The same Hebrew word for day is “Yom” in Genesis 1 and 2 and in the Exodus accounts of day/Yom. In both, Genesis and Exodus, the term “day” relates to continuous twenty-four days.
In Exodus 20:9-11, the word “day” is “Yom,” in every instance that it is used.
9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
The seventh day is “only” the seventh day. The Sabbath Day is “only” the Sabbath Day that occurs “only” on the seventh day. No other day of the week can be made into the Sabbath. The descendants of Israel were the only people who were present when God gave the Sabbath Day to the Jews for keeping (Exodus 31:16; Exodus 1:1-11 and 19:1 through Exodus 20:8. The subject of Exodus is the deliverance of Israel by God from a tyrannical Egyptian leader. Of the descendants of Shem through Abraham, only the descendants of Jacob, the Israelites, were present in the book of Exodus. None of the descendants of Ham or Japheth were present in the book of Exodus. (Noah was the father of Shem, Ham and Japheth…Genesis 9:18; 10:1). Remember that the army of Egypt was chasing the Israelites; no other groups of people were mentioned as joining the fleeing Jews to also be chased by the murderous Egyptians (who would soon became fish food in the Red Sea!).
The Sabbath is special to God, and to the Jews. It is also special to every other group of people because,”God made it special; He made it holy.” Consider how we can keep the Sabbath Holy.
“Shabbat Shalom”
‘Shabbat’ means ‘sabbath’ – so, the seventh day of the week when the Torah instructs the Jewish people to do no work on that day, but rather rest.
‘Shalom’ means ‘peace’ – in the sense of ‘the peace of God’, or something to that effect. By itself, it is a common greeting in Hebrew.
So, saying ‘Shabbat Shalom’ to someone is an expression of your wish for them to enjoy and experience that peace on Shabbat.

Consider verse 8. “The beginning of sorrows.” This may very well be the time that the whole world is experiencing now, with the offenses being directed toward the people of the Earth who know the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob, who are Jews and Christians. This period of time will precede the time of the tribulation. The events of Ezekiel 38-39 also relate to “the beginning of sorrows.”
Consider verse 21, which relates to the conditions that will be present during the time of the Great Tribulation. Consider the severity of those conditions.

As we continue with this study of the end times, it is important for us to understand the significance of a key verse of scripture, as follows. Names of God in Judaism – See “Hashem”
The name of God used most often in the Hebrew Bible is the Tetragrammaton YHWH (Hebrew: יהוה). It is frequently anglicized as Jehovah and Yahweh and written in most editions of the Bible as “the Lord” owing to the Jewish tradition of reading it as Adonai (“My Lords”) out of respect.
Rabbinic Judaism describes seven names which are so holy that, once written, should not be erased: YHWH, El (“God”), Elohim(“Gods”), Eloah (“God”), El Shaddai, and Tzevaot or Sabaoth (“Of Hosts”). Role of the Spirit

Five days of Valentine? Let’s do six!
If she’s with family or friends, or in an auditorium that is full of people, recognize her – point her out! Look straight into her eyes – never take your eyes off her. Talk to her – tell her how much she means to you. Cherish the memories – look to the future. Cross your heart – make a promise to her that you will always be her man, and that she will always be the special woman that makes your life worth living. All of the other people may be important, but she is the most important person in your life. Fellows, you may not be able to sing like George Strait, but you can always have a song that she will love to hear you sing to her. Make her laugh – never let your shyness get in the way of praising her.

Four days of Valentine? Why so few? Let’s do another one!
In this song, John Michael tells of the things that he has found from studying his wife. In the movie “Fireproof,” Caleb was about to lose his marriage. Michael, the best friend of Caleb, provided sound advice for Caleb. As it related to Caleb’s wife, Catherine, Michael said, “you’ve got to study your wife!” Listen to the things that John Michael Montgomery says in the song about his wife. He had studied her, and had noticed some very simple things about her; but they were things that told him what his wife was like. He learned how she responded to certain things. He learned the way that she loved him. And, from studying his wife, he also learned how much he loved her. Fellows, if you haven’t noticed by now, “women are different!” Study your woman to let her know how much you love her.

We’ve heard about “The Twelve Days Of Christmas,” so I am going to add another grouping of days and call it, “The Three Days Of Valentine.” This year, with Valentine’s Day falling on a Sunday, it appears that much of the celebrating began on Friday. As many people have noticed, I will add videos to most of my posts; I have found them to be very useful in drawing people to read my posts, and to strengthening the messages that I write.
During this “Three Days Of Valentine,” I have focused my posts on men, because I believe that men still should call women for their purpose of “getting to know the gals.” The song that I have added to this post tells of the heart-felt love of a “man for a woman.” I have read many comments on YouTube where men, and women, tell of the deep regrets that they have over the fact that they let the love of their life, “slip out of their hands.” Without going any further with that thought, I will just say, “Happy Valentine’s Day;” may our Lord Jesus richly bless you.
The following information was provided to me by an internet friend who lives in Poland; I thank him very much. I think that there is a lot that is missing from our minds as it relates to Valentine’s Day. My friend provided two links, which are very interesting. I have also added two links, with the first relating to the amount of money that people (mostly guys) spend on their special people (mostly gals). (A blank box is shown; click onto the words at the top of the box). Remember that in Genesis it talks about “Adam and Eve,” and not “Adam and Steve.” My second link provides historical data on Valentines’ Day, which closely coincides with that of my friend. I trust that your “Three Days Of Valentine” will be warmly memorable.

St. Valentine, bishop and martyr. Valentine was a bishop of Terni in Umbria – Italia. He lived in the third century. And was a priest of Rome. There, in time of persecution (Claudius II Gota), with St. Mariusz and relatives, assisted the martyrs in the time of their processes and execution. Soon, he was captured and brought to the prefect of Rome, who carried out a routine process of forcing a derogation from Christ. To this end, he had to use clubs. Because it did not bring the expected result, he had Valentine beheaded. This happened on February 14 269 years.

This “small town southern man” was very much like the older men that I knew when I was growing up in a southern state in America. Just imagine the man to whom Alan Jackson is giving great tribute. He loved Jesus and America. He was faithful to his wife and worked hard to support her and their family. A good reputation was important to him, and he lived a lifestyle that ensured that his life’s legacy was one of great respect. As he treated those of his family, he also had a great kindness for those of his friendship and acquaintance. It is easy to see that, “He was quite a guy,” and that he knew what God’s Word meant by the Words, “Husbands love your wives.”

The Passover Meal
1 Now before the Feast of the Passover, Jesus knowing that His hour had come that He would depart out of this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end. 2 During supper, the devil having already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, to betray Him, 3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come forth from God and was going back to God, 4 got up from supper, and laid aside His garments; and taking a towel, He girded Himself.
Jesus Washes the Disciples’ Feet
5 Then He poured water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded. 6 So He came to Simon Peter. Jesus Predicts His Betrayal

Jesus Enters Jerusalem

Greeks Seek Jesus
20 Now there were some Greeks among those who were going up to worship at the feast; 21 these then came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and began to ask him, saying, “Sir, we wish to see Jesus.” 22 Philip came and told Andrew; Andrew and Philip came and told Jesus. 23 And Jesus answered them, saying, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. 24“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. 25“He who loves his life loses it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it to life eternal. 26“If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.
Jesus Foretells His Death
27“Now My soul has become troubled; and what shall I say, ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour. 28“Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came out of heaven: “I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.” 29 So the crowd of people who stood by and heard it were saying that it had thundered; others were saying, “An angel has spoken to Him.” 30 Jesus answered and said, “This voice has not come for My sake, but for your sakes. 31 “Now judgment is upon this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. 32“And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself.” 33 But He was saying this to indicate the kind of death by which He was to die. 34 The crowd then answered Him, “We have heard out of the Law that the Christ is to remain forever; and how can You say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?” 35 So Jesus said to them, “For a little while longer the Light is among you. Walk while you have the Light, so that darkness will not overtake you; he who walks in the darkness does not know where he goes. 36“While you have the Light, believe in the Light, so that you may become sons of Light.”
These things Jesus spoke, and He went away and hid Himself from them. 37 But though He had performed so many signs before them, yet they were not believing in Him. 38 This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet which he spoke: “LORD, WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR REPORT?
