103 – The Bowl Judgments

Bowl Judgments, And Beyond

Will the church go through the tribulation? Read on!

Tribulation Judgments.

A discussion of the Seal Judgments of the tribulation can be found in its own blog post. A discussion of the Trumpet Judgments can also be found in its own post. This particular post video discusses the Bowl Judgments, but also discusses other factors that cover chapters 14-19 of the Book of Revelation.

Seal judgments.Trumpet judgments. Bowl judgments.

Matthew 24:21 NASB

“For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will. (“For then,” identifies a time after the rapture of the church has taken place.)

Matthew 24:29-31 NASB

“But immediately after the tribulation of those days,” (This is the event of the second coming of Christ, which takes place at the end of the tribulation.)

As you read the descriptions of all that will take place during each of the Bowl Judgments, you will have to come to grips with a belief of many that there will be no rapture or tribulation. Such a belief would cast of shadow of allegory over the truth of God’s Holy Word. To believe that there will be no pre-tribulation rapture means that everybody in the world will have to endure the tribulation’s wrath of God, which will be made manifest through the tribulation judgments. In this series of judgments, you can see that angels will be responsible for unleashing each judgment on “all who dwell on the earth” (Revelation 3:10), and that the anti-Christ has nothing to do with the unleashing of these judgments of God, which truly are “judgments of God.” To believe that the whole world’s population will be left on earth during the tribulation will also be a belief that infants, unborn babies, two-year old babies, etc., will be the targets of each judgment. So, let me ask you to look at your child, or someone else’s child and ask, “why God?” You will have to look at yourself too, if you are a born again believer in Christ, and ask, “why God?” By being in the midst of God’s wrath and judgments, nobody who has been born again…having the Spirit of Christ dwelling within their spirit…will be made any more holy, than the holiness which they acquired when they were born again, and became “the righteousness of God in Christ,” (2 Corinthians 5:17, 21).

The Righteousness Of Born Again Believers In Christ

2 Corinthians 5:17 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.”

2 Corinthians 5:21 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

“He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

Christ In Born Again Believers

Colossians 1:27 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

“to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

Born Again Believers in God

1 John 1:5 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

“This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.”

Born again believers in Christ have become “the righteousness of God.”

Bowl Judgments

The seven bowl judgments of the tribulation can be found in the Book of Revelation, in Chapters 15 and 16 (15:1-16:21). The bowl judgments are much more severe than those of the preceding seal and trumpet judgments. For example, the bowl judgments will include: 1. Malignant sores. 2. Sea turned to blood. 3. Fresh waters to blood. 4. Human beings scorched with fire. 5. Darkness over the kingdom of the Beast. 6. Invasion from the east. 7. Greatest earthquake and widespread destruction. (Ryrie Study Bible). Each of the judgments are those of God, and are carried out by angels. Please remember that neither Satan, nor the Anti-Christ, has any control over any of the judgments. The tribulation judgments are tools of God’s wrath that will be poured out on a sinful and rebellious world.

Revelation 15 New King James Version (NKJV)

Prelude to the Bowl Judgments

1 Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous: seven angels having the seven last plagues, for in them the wrath of God is complete.

2 And I saw something like a sea of glass mingled with fire, and those who have the victory over the beast, over his image and over his mark and over the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, having harps of God. 3 They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying:

“Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints!
4 Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy. For all nations shall come and worship before You, For Your judgments have been manifested.”

5 After these things I looked, and behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened. 6 And out of the temple came the seven angels having the seven plagues, clothed in pure bright linen, and having their chests girded with golden bands. 7 Then one of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God who lives forever and ever. 8 The temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from His power, and no one was able to enter the temple till the seven plagues of the seven angels were completed.

Revelation 16 New King James Version (NKJV)

1 Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, “Go and pour out the bowls of the wrath of God on the earth.”

First Bowl: Loathsome Sores
2 So the first went and poured out his bowl upon the earth, and a foul and loathsome sore came upon the men who had the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image.

Second Bowl: The Sea Turns to Blood
3 Then the second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it became blood as of a dead man; and every living creature in the sea died.

Third Bowl: The Waters Turn to Blood
4 Then the third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water, and they became blood. 5 And I heard the angel of the waters saying:

“You are righteous, O Lord, The One who is and who was and who is to be, Because You have judged these things. 6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, And You have given them blood to drink.
For it is their just due.”

7 And I heard another from the altar saying, “Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments.”

Fourth Bowl: Men Are Scorched
8 Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire. 9 And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory.

Fifth Bowl: Darkness and Pain
10 Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom became full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues because of the pain. 11 They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and did not repent of their deeds.

Sixth Bowl: Euphrates Dried Up
12 Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared. 13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

15 “Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.”

16 And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon.

Seventh Bowl: The Earth Utterly Shaken
17 Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, “It is done!” 18 And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth. 19 Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath. 20 Then every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. 21 And great hail from heaven fell upon men, each hailstone about the weight of a talent. Men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, since that plague was exceedingly great.

Note. Consider the words of Ron Rhodes, about the liberal church that he and his family had attended. Just as their congregation did not teach the word of God, in its fullness, there are many other churches and denominations that are also guilty of not preaching and teaching the full gospel of Christ.

Consider Isaiah 7:14, as it was written in the New Revised Standard Version. The copyright date of that Bible was 1989. The National Council of Churches of Christ In The United States Of America translated the New Revised Standard Version. Consider the text, as follows.

Isaiah 7:14 New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

“Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Look, the young woman is with child and shall bear a son, and shall name him Immanuel.”

The error in translating that verse is very severe. There is no mention of the virgin birth of Christ. It is true that Mary was a young woman. However, it is of extreme spiritual importance for Mary to be identified as being the virgin, “which she was.”

The link that follows shows the churches and denominations who are members of the National Council Of Churches Of Christ in the United States Of America. By being a member of the National Council of Churches, each member church and denomination is agreeing with the erroneous translation of Isaiah 7:14.

If your church or denomination is a member of the National of Churches, there is a serious problem that needs to be addressed by you and your family. Do you stay in a denomination that has more of a social gospel, as opposed to an evangelical gospel of calling unsaved people to saving faith in Christ? The road to the “lake of fire” (Revelation 20:11-15) is paved with good intentions. But, as a parent, do you allow your impressionable children to be led to the lake of fire by those of teaching error, of “noble intentions,” to include yourself? Once someone is in the lake of fire, “there is no getting out;” its punishment is eternal!(Luke 16:19-26; Revelation 20:10).

Love

Click onto any highlighted word to see the video and text on the blog.

The video clip that is being shown is from a wonderful move, “Rome Adventure.” The movie is about a young woman, whose name is Prudence, who is seeking true love. She had worked as a librarian somewhere in America. She wanted to go “where they really know what love is all about – Italy.” So, she went! The role of Prudence is played by Suzanne Pleshette.

Almost magically upon her arrival in Italy, Prudence meets a young man who has recently broken up with his girl friend. That man is Don, and is played by Troy Donahue. Love is truly in the air as Prudence and Don tour Italy together.

The Rome Adventure theme song, Al Di La, has been in my mind throughout the years. While Don and Prudence are on a date, and listening to Emilio Pericolli sing Al Di La, Prudence asks Don to explain the meaning of “Al Di La.” He explains it like this: “It’s hard to explain. It’s far far away, beyond the beyond, beyond this world; that’s how much he loves her in this song.”

Rome Adventure is truly a love story, because it is just that – a story about love, young love. There is nothing out of taste or character for either Suzanne Pleshette or Troy Donahue; oh how we need movies like it today. To help you to understand some of my thoughts about this movie, I have added two links. The first one will take you to the scene where Al Di La is being sung. The second one will show various film clips of the movie. I trust that you will get a feeling deep inside of you that will help you to remember, or appreciate, such a time in your life.

Troy Donahue and Suzanne Pleshette later married, although I am not certain of how long their marriage lasted; they are both dead now, as well as Emilio Pericolli. All are great losses for our world.

The following verses discuss love.

1 Corinthians 13 New King James Version (NKJV)

Love – The Greatest Gift

1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.

4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.

11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

102 – The Anti-Christ

The Role of the Antichrist

The text video discusses the role of the Ant-Christ, which takes place during the tribulation of the Book of Revelation. Also discussed are Satan and The False Prophet. Together, these three characters are known as the “unholy trinity.” Satan is also known as the dragon of tribulation. The Anti-Christ is also known as “the beast,” and will be a political world leader. The False Prophet is a religious leader which will give credence to the Anti-Christ. In the Left Behind series of books and movies, the interaction between the Anti-Christ and the False Prophet is clearly shown. The movie, Left Behind 2, is shown at the bottom of this post. Chapter 12 of the Book of Revelation discusses actions of Satan, “the Dragon.” Chapter 13 of the Book of Revelation discusses actions of the The Beast From The Sea, the “Anti-Christ,” and the Beast from The Earth, the “False Prophet.” Notice that the woman of Revelation, Chapter 12, verses one and two, is Israel.

Revelation, Chapter 12: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation+12&version=NASB

Revelation, Chapter 13: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation+13&version=NASB

The Left Behind 2 movie follows. The movie is based on Biblical prophecy of the things that will take place on earth after the rapture of “believers in Christ” has taken place. The tribulation follows. The people whom were left behind from the rapture are beginning to deal with the result of every born again man, woman and child being missing from the world. A key figure enters the scene and begins his control of every aspect of world control, with that person being the Anti-Christ. Only unbelievers are left behind on earth after the rapture takes place. The movie correctly shows that there will be salvation in Christ for those unbelievers who come to saving faith in Christ. I have found the biblical events of the tribulation that are shown in the movie to be accurate.

Yet out of you shall come forth to Me

The Immanuel Prophecy

Isaiah 7:14 New King James Version (NKJV) (742 B.C.)

Isaiah 9:6 New King James Version (NKJV) (740 B.C.)

And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Matthew 1:18-25 New King James Version (NKJV)

Christ Born of Mary

Christ The Infant

18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. 19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly. 20 But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

22 So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: 23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

24 Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife, 25 and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name Jesus.

Luke 2:1-7 New King James Version (NKJV)

Christ Born of Mary

Christ The Infant

1 And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. 2 This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. 3 So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city.

4 Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, 5 to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. 6 So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

Luke 2:8-15 New King James Version (NKJV)

Glory in the Highest

8 Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. 10 Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”

13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:

14 “Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”

15 So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.”

Matthew 2:1-14 New King James Version (NKJV)

Wise Men from the East

Christ The Child

1 Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, 2 saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”

3 When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. 4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born.

5 So they said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet:

6 ‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,
Are not the least among the rulers of Judah;
For out of you shall come a Ruler
Who will shepherd My people Israel.’”

7 Then Herod, when he had secretly called the wise men, determined from them what time the star appeared. 8 And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the young Child, and when you have found Him, bring back word to me, that I may come and worship Him also.”

9 When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was. 10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. 11 And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

12 Then, being divinely warned in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed for their own country another way.

The Flight into Egypt

13 Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him.”

14 When he arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night and departed for Egypt,

101 – Judgments Of The Tribulation – Trumpet Judgments 2

The Judgments of the Tribulation

The text video discusses the seal and trumpet judgments of the tribulation.

Will the church go through the tribulation? Read on!

Tribulation Judgments.

A discussion of the Seal Judgments of the tribulation can be found in Blog Post 88 – Judgments Of The Tribulation – Seal Judgments. A discussion on the Bowl Judgments will follow this post. This particular post uses the same video, as that of Post 88, but discusses the Trumpet Judgments of Revelation, which occurs in the time of the Great Tribulation. The video discussion on the Trumpet Judgments begins about mid way through the video.

Seal judgments.Trumpet judgments. Bowl judgments.

Each of these judgments will occur during the time of the tribulation. The Left Behind series of books, movies, and my series of blog posts on that subject, discuss a time in future history that will be as real, “as a heart attack.” The Left Behind movies show those who miss the rapture, and will be left on earth to face a time of tribulation that will be, as Matthew 24:14 describes:

“For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will.” (New American Standard Bible)

This series of posts on the Judgments of the tribulation will explain the severity of each seal, trumpet and bowl judgment. The perpetrator of each judgment will be identified. Those who are left behind and experience the judgments will also be identified, as well as the reason for their remaining on earth to come under the judgments. If you have not read Post 88, which discusses the Seal Judgments of the tribulation, it is important that you read that post before reading this discussion of the Trumpet Judgments.

As you read the descriptions of all that will take place during each of the Trumpet Judgments, you will have to come to grips with a belief of many that there will be no rapture or tribulation. Such a belief will cast of shadow of allegory over the truth of God’s Holy Word. To believe that there will be no pre-tribulation rapture means that everybody in the world will have to endure the tribulation’s wrath of God, as they are made manifest through the judgments.

TRUMPET JUDGMENTS

Revelation 8 New King James Version (NKJV)

Seventh Seal: Prelude to the Seven Trumpets

1 When He opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. 2 And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and to them were given seven trumpets. 3 Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. 4 And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel’s hand. 5 Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it to the earth. And there were noises, thunderings, lightnings, and an earthquake.

6 So the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.

First Trumpet: Vegetation Struck

7 The first angel sounded: And hail and fire followed, mingled with blood, and they were thrown to the earth. And a third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up.

Second Trumpet: The Seas Struck

8 Then the second angel sounded: And something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood. 9 And a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.

Third Trumpet: The Waters Struck

10 Then the third angel sounded: And a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. 11 The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the water, because it was made bitter.

Fourth Trumpet: The Heavens Struck

12 Then the fourth angel sounded: And a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened. A third of the day did not shine, and likewise the night.

13 And I looked, and I heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, “Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the remaining blasts of the trumpet of the three angels who are about to sound!”

Revelation 9 New King James Version (NKJV)

Fifth Trumpet: The Locusts from the Bottomless Pit

9 Then the fifth angel sounded: And I saw a star fallen from heaven to the earth. To him was given the key to the bottomless pit. 2 And he opened the bottomless pit, and smoke arose out of the pit like the smoke of a great furnace. So the sun and the air were darkened because of the smoke of the pit. 3 Then out of the smoke locusts came upon the earth. And to them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. 4 They were commanded not to harm the grass of the earth, or any green thing, or any tree, but only those men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads. 5 And they were not given authority to kill them, but to torment them for five months. Their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it strikes a man. 6 In those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will desire to die, and death will flee from them.

7 The shape of the locusts was like horses prepared for battle. On their heads were crowns of something like gold, and their faces were like the faces of men. 8 They had hair like women’s hair, and their teeth were like lions’ teeth. 9 And they had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots with many horses running into battle. 10 They had tails like scorpions, and there were stings in their tails. Their power was to hurt men five months. 11 And they had as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, but in Greek he has the name Apollyon.

12 One woe is past. Behold, still two more woes are coming after these things.

Sixth Trumpet: The Angels from the Euphrates

13 Then the sixth angel sounded: And I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, 14 saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.” 15 So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released to kill a third of mankind. 16 Now the number of the army of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them. 17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision: those who sat on them had breastplates of fiery red, hyacinth blue, and sulfur yellow; and the heads of the horses were like the heads of lions; and out of their mouths came fire, smoke, and brimstone. 18 By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed—by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone which came out of their mouths. 19 For their power is in their mouth and in their tails; for their tails are like serpents, having heads; and with them they do harm.

20 But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk. 21 And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.

Revelation 11:15-19 New King James Version (NKJV)

Seventh Trumpet: The Kingdom Proclaimed

15 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” 16 And the twenty-four elders who sat before God on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17 saying:

“We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty,The One who is and who was and who is to come, Because You have taken Your great power and reigned. 18 The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, And the time of the dead, that they should be judged, And that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints,
And those who fear Your name, small and great, And should destroy those who destroy the earth.”

19 Then the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of His covenant was seen in His temple. And there were lightnings, noises, thunderings, an earthquake, and great hail.

Matthew 1:18-25 King James Version (KJV)

18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.

20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.

22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:

25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name Jesus.

Luke 2:1-20 King James Version (KJV)

1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.

2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)

3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.

4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.

17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.

18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.

19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.

20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

Matthew 1:18-23 New King James Version (NKJV)

Jesus, God With Us

These thoughts of mine were posted last December. Even though a year has passed, my thoughts remain the same.

The year was 1959. The month was September. I had just started sixth grade in Gretna, Louisiana. I would spend the next three years at the same “Grammar School.” My life was common to those of my school mates. I lived in a small house that was located only about three hundred feet from my school. At lunch time, I could go home, or go to a nearby grocery store and buy a “po boy” sandwich (French or Italian bread with ham, turkey, shrimp, or oysters, mayonnaise, lettuce and tomato slices). I could also have my lunch at school where we would have tasty red beans and rice, with links of smoked sausage, every Monday. I would arrive at school every day early enough that I could play basketball or jacks. I might also shoot marbles or try to sharpen my yo-yo skills. When we started our school day, we would say the pledge to the flag and say a prayer. We had real Christmas holidays, and had real Christmas programs at school. We would sing Christmas carols, which included biblical songs. The school would give the children song sheets that showed the words to those biblical songs. Teachers were free to talk to their classes about their church lives. Most of my friends watched the same television programs. We didn’t have cable tv or dish types, so our selection was limited to traditional network programming. The programs were family oriented and were not restricted to “church and state” limitations. The Beaver Cleaver family went to church and Sunday School. Andy, Barney, Aunt Bea, Opie, and Gomer were shown in their church, even when Gomer might fall asleep and snore during the “Reverend’s” sermons. When Christmas Eve would finally arrive, my family would sit around the tree; my younger brother and sister and I would wonder about what we would find there in the morning. As a much younger child, “I could have sworn” that sometime during the night, “I had heard reindeer sounds in the yard!” Seriously! The Christmas programs that were produced and shown by ABC, NBC, and CBS did not hide the fact that “Jesus was the reason for the season.” Television hosts did not omit “Jesus” from their discussions when they were talking about Christmas. Jesus was truly “God with us” in the tv programs of those Christmas seasons. Please take time to play the videos that I have selected, and see that there was truly a much simpler time of Christmas in our nation’s not too distant history. Please have a very Merry Christmas, and May God bless the USA!

The Bells Of St. Mary’s – Thoughts Of Simpler Times

Bing Crosby Sings The Bells Of St. Mary’s

This post is a remake of one that I made last year, and “the year before.” I trust that you will be blessed by memories that may “flood your soul.”

I have found myself enjoying this Christmas Eve evening by watching one of my favorite of all time movies and, I’ve got to talk to you about the movie, and the times of the movie. As I see the downtown street scenes in the movie, my mind drifts back to the days of my childhood. My step-father was usually away from home working as a merchant seaman, so my mother would take my younger brother, sister and me “downtown” on shopping excursions. My mother was very good at shopping, and provided many memorable Christmas mornings for my brother, sister and me. As with many downtown shopping areas in America “in the 50s,” we had streets that were lined with buildings where you could find stores such as Sears, Penny’s, Woolworth’s, McCrory’s, Kress’s, and, “you know the rest of them.” The streets were nicely decorated with “Christmas” markings (not Happy Holidays yet!). The store personnel would always say, “Merry Christmas,” without the fear of being fired! My family didn’t have a car, so we would travel by city bus or cab. The drivers were very friendly and would also give “Christmas greetings” to us. I can remember the long kelly green coat that my mother wore. She always had a wide black belt around her coat and wore black high heels; she had given up wearing a hat and white gloves (sort of what Mayberry’s Aunt Bea would wear!). By the way, we didn’t have a television at home. So, now, you know all about my family.

Movies, such as “The Bells Of St. Mary’s,” and other Bing Crosby movies, tell stories of “niceness” of the human spirit. As for this particular Bing Crosby movie, it has made a special place of warmth in my soul, as have many other of his movies, such as “Going My Way.” A person doesn’t have to be Catholic to appreciate this movie, or any of the other similar Crosby movies. I trust that you will enjoy this movie, and that you will also have a very merry Christmas. Now, let’s watch the full-length movie of “The Bells Of St. Mary’s.” You may be drawn back in your mind to the 50s, or maybe even the 40s or 30s.

The two videos in this post have a lot of discussion on the Book of Revelation. Within that book of prophecy, comes the discussion of the seal, trumpet and bowl judgments, all of which are the result of the wrath of God, and of no one else. During this post, and two following posts, there will be a brief discussion of each of the tribulation judgments. But, before we proceed, we must consider two important verses of scripture, John 3:3 and John 3:16. John 3:3: To be born again, or to be born from above by the Holy Spirit, is the requirement for anyone to enter into the Presence of God. The part of each person that must be born again, or born from above,” is the spirit. John 3:16: To believe in Christ, is to have eternal life. So, we can say that if we are born again, we also will believe in Christ. And, if we believe in Christ, we have been born again/born from above. Those two verses are “hard and fast!” They are non-negotiable. We can not appear before God in His kingdom without appearing with a spirit that has no flaw (2 Corinthians 5:21). We must have a spirit “that has the indwelling presence of the Spirit or God,” and that also dwells within the Spirit of God (Father, Son, Holy Spirit)(John 14:20)(Colossians 1:27). Our spirit must be made free from the presence of sin/darkness (1 John 3:5) before it can dwell within God’s Spirit. In essence, before we can appear before God in His eternal kingdom, we must have a spirit that is perfect, and without any flaw of imperfection. So, we must revert back to John 3:3; “we must be born again.”

John 3:3 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

John 3:3 Names of God Bible (NOG)

3 Yeshua replied to Nicodemus, “I can guarantee this truth: No one can see the kingdom of God without being born from above.”

John 3:16 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

John 3:16 Names of God Bible (NOG)

16 God loved the world this way: He gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life.

It is important to know the identity of the people who will be present during the tribulation, which covers chapters 6-13 of the Book of Revelation. It is clear that unsaved people will be the subject of the wrath and judgments of God. But, many people believe that those which are born again believers of Christ will also be the objects of such punishment, and will also have to go through the tribulation. The saints, which are the bride of Christ, are also known as born again believers of Christ. So, if there is no rapture of born again believers in Christ before the tribulation begins, everyone on earth will have to go through the tribulation and be objects of the judgments and wrath of God, “including infants and those which are mentally incapable and those which have the Spirit of God dwelling within their born again spirits.” One of the purposes of the tribulation is to draw unsaved people to saving faith in Christ, both Jew and Gentile. Unsaved people have spirits that are flawed and, “are sin.” Saved people don’t have to be “saved again.” Saved people have spirits that are perfect and, “are righteous” (2 Corinthians 5:17, 21). An unsaved person can accept Christ as their Lord and Savior at anytime in their life, including during the tribulation. Someone, that is saved and born again, can not become more saved or more righteous or more born again, by being subjected to the wrath and judgments of God that will be present during the tribulation. There is no stated purpose for God to put His children (John 1:12-13) in the tribulation to become objects of the oppression of the anti-Christ.

Revelation 3:10 states that “those who dwell on the earth,” will be subject to the time of trial that will take place during the tribulation. Revelation 3:9 says that there will be people that will be kept from that hour of trial. The term, “earth dweller,” relates to someone that is in constant defiance to God, and is also discussed in Revelation 6:10, 8:13, 11:10, 13:8, 13:14, and 17:8. So, we must determine the identity of those of whom are, and are not, “earth dwellers.” Are we to say that infants are earth dwellers? If infants are truly earth dwellers, we must know the reason for such an indictment.” If infants are not earth dwellers, we must know where they “will be” during the tribulation. If babies could be snatched away from the earth prior to the tribulation, such a “catching away” would be a rapture. Of course, the reason for this discussion revolves around whether there is, or is not,” such a thing as a rapture. Of course, we must also consider those people who are not mentally capable of understanding Christ as being Lord and Savior. It is very clear that neither infants, nor people which are mentally incapable of placing their belief in Christ as Lord and Savior, can be considered to be believers in Christ. So, “what happens to them,” when the tribulation takes place? I think that any reasonable person can agree that the nature of God is “to not” commit to His wrath, either infants or mentally incapable people. So, what is God going to do to these two special groups of people? Here is my belief; God will give them a “born again spirit!” But, even with a born again spirit, where will infants and mentally incapable people be found when the tribulation takes place? They definitely are not “earth dwellers.” Only a rapture can remove them from the world during the tribulation. (We won’t discuss,”age of accountability; “it’s not in the Bible.” God will be fair to take care of that situation.)

Let’s now consider those adults that will have been born again before the tribulation takes place. Are they “earth dwellers,” or, are they “citizens of heaven?” (Philippians 3:30). We are born again because Christ imputed His righteousness in us. Then, He took on Himself, “our sin,” thereby making us “the righteousness of God.” Born again believers in Christ are not earth dwellers; their spirits are literally, “in Christ” (2 Corinthians 5:21, 5:17).

Let’s add another important fact about those of us which are born again believers in Christ (1 Corinthians 1:2). God has: made us holy, treated us as holy, set us apart as holy, and sanctified us and purified us. As saints, (2 Corinthians 2:1) God has made us holy, treated us as being holy, has set us apart as being holy, and has sanctified, hallowed and purified us.

Born again believers in Christ, “the Church,” are also known as “the bride of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:2), and are not people that are known as “earth dwellers,” but are the precious and loved “bride of Christ.” In no way, can the bride of Christ be called, “earth dweller.” In no way, will a loving groom place His bride in the danger that will definitely come upon her in the tribulation. In no way, will God leave any infant, or anyone who is mentally incompetent, on earth to have the judgments of His wrath to be poured out upon them. Christ will remove all of His born again believers from this world. He will come for His saints, and take them away to be in the Presence of God The Father (John 14:1-6; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, 1 Corinthians 15:50-54). Believers will then be, “absent from the body, and at home with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8). Next, we will appear before the bema judgment (Judgment Seat Of Christ), for rewards (2 Corinthians 5:10). The next stop will be where believers in Christ will appear with Christ at the “Marriage of the Lamb,” (Revelation 19:7-8), on the way to the marriage supper of the Lamb on earth (19:9). On the way to the marriage supper, the bride will accompany the bride groom (Christ) to the battle of Armageddon (Revelation 19:11-21), where Christ and the saints will stand on planet earth (Zechariah 14:1-4; 5-16), which is where Christ will inflict judgment on the earth dwellers after the tribulation (Matthew 24:29-30; 25:31-46). The thousand-year reign of Christ, aka Messianic Kingdom, will follow with unbelievers being cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20). Believers in Christ, the bride of Christ, will enter into the eternal state, “New Heaven, New Earth, New Jerusalem,” (Revelation 21-22). The rapture of the church begins this chain of events, which will take place before the tribulation begins.

So, getting back to the question about those which will be left on earth to suffer from the wrath and judgments of God, let’s consider all that will take place during the tribulation. Consider why those of us, “that have passed the test of being “born again,” should be left by God on earth when the tribulation begins. “Earth dwellers,” will be able to accept Christ as Lord and Savior during the tribulation, but will probably be martyred by the forces of the Anti-Christ.

Judgments Of The End Times – Seal Judgments

Revelation 6 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

The First Seal—Rider on White Horse
1 Then I saw when the Lamb broke one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying as with a voice of thunder, “Come.” 2 I looked, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.

The Second Seal—War
3 When He broke the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come.” 4 And another, a red horse, went out; and to him who sat on it, it was granted to take peace from the earth, and that men would slay one another; and a great sword was given to him.

The Third Seal—Famine
5 When He broke the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying, “Come.” I looked, and behold, a black horse; and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. 6 And I heard something like a voice in the center of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not damage the oil and the wine.”

The Fourth Seal—Death
7 When the Lamb broke the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, “Come.” 8 I looked, and behold, an ashen horse; and he who sat on it had the name Death; and Hades was following with him. Authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by the wild beasts of the earth.

The Fifth Seal—Martyrs
9 When the Lamb broke the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God, and because of the testimony which they had maintained; 10 and they cried out with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, will You refrain from judging and avenging our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” 11 And there was given to each of them a white robe; and they were told that they should rest for a little while longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brethren who were to be killed even as they had been, would be completed also.

The Sixth Seal—Terror
12 I looked when He broke the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became like blood; 13 and the stars of the sky fell to the earth, as a fig tree casts its unripe figs when shaken by a great wind. 14 The sky was split apart like a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. 15 Then the kings of the earth and the great men and the commanders and the rich and the strong and every slave and free man hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains; 16 and they *said to the mountains and to the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the presence of Him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb; 17 for the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”

Revelation 8 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

The Seventh Seal—the Trumpets
1 When the Lamb broke the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. 2 And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them.

3 Another angel came and stood at the altar, holding a golden censer; and much incense was given to him, so that he might add it to the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar which was before the throne. 4 And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, went up before God out of the angel’s hand. 5 Then the angel took the censer and filled it with the fire of the altar, and threw it to the earth; and there followed peals of thunder and sounds and flashes of lightning and an earthquake.

6 And the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound them.

Hanukkah

Chanukah Candle Blessings • First Night

Consider the warmth and love that is present as a Jewish family celebrates the first night of Hanukkah.

There is no Old Testament discussion of the celebration of Hanukkah. However, in the New Testament, there is an account of the Feast of Dedication, which is also known as the Feast Of Hanukkah and the Feast Of Lights. Below the following verse, there is a comment on Hanukkah that is provided by Dr. John MacArthur.

John 10:22 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

22 At that time the Feast of the Dedication took place at Jerusalem;

10:22 Feast of Dedication. The Jewish celebration of Hanukkah, which celebrates the Israelite victory over the Syrian leader Antiochus Epiphanes, who persecuted Israel. In ca. 170 B.C. he conquered Jerusalem and desecrated the Jewish temple by setting up a pagan altar to displace the altar of God. Under the leadership of an old priest named Mattathias (his family name was called the Hasmoneans), the Jews fought guerrilla warfare (known as the Maccabean Revolt—166–142 B.C.) against Syria and freed the temple and the land from Syrian dominance until 63 B.C. when Rome (Pompey) took control of Palestine. It was in 164 B.C. on 25 Chislev (Dec. approximately), that the Jews liberated the temple and rededicated it. The celebration is also known as the “Feast of Lights” because of the lighting of lamps and candles in Jewish homes to commemorate the event. it was winter. John indicated by this phrase that the cold weather drove Jesus to walk on the eastern side of the temple in the sheltered area of Solomon’s porch, which after the resurrection became the regular gathering place of Christians where they would proclaim the gospel (see Acts 3:11; 5:12).

It should be known that the Jewish King Solomon completed the construction of the temple in Jerusalem, Israel, in the year 959 B.C. Such documentation is provided in the Old Testament books of 1 Kings, Chapter 7, and 2 Chronicles, Chapter 5.

So, if you have a Jewish friend, what is the proper greeting for Hanukkah?

https://toriavey.com/hanukkah-the-festival-of-lights/

To wish someone a Happy Hanukkah, say “Hanukkah Sameach!” (Happy Hanukkah) or simply “Chag Sameach!” (Happy Holiday). Or if you want to show off your Hebrew skills, say “Chag Urim Sameach!” (urim means “lights”).

Hanukkah Starts Tonight! Here’s How to Celebrate

https://reformjudaism.org/jewish-holidays/hanukkah
Hanukkah

Hanukkah is celebrated in 2017, from sunset on December 12, through sunset of December 20. Hanukkah (alternately spelled Chanukah), meaning “dedication” in Hebrew, refers to the joyous eight-day celebration during which Jews commemorate the victory of the Maccabees over the armies of Syria in 165 B.C.E. and the subsequent liberation and “rededication” of the Temple in Jerusalem. The modern home celebration of Hanukkah centers around the lighting of the hanukkiyah, a special menorah for Hanukkah; foods prepared in oil including latkes (potato pancakes) and sufganiyot (jelly doughnuts); and special songs and games.

History: The Hanukkah Story

The story of Hanukkah (Chanukah) also known as the Festival of Lights. Unlike many Jewish holidays, Hanukkah (also known as the Festival of Lights) is not mentioned in the Bible. The historical events upon which the celebration is based are recorded in Maccabees I and II, two books contained within a later collection of writings known as the Apocrypha. Although Hanukkah is considered a “minor” Jewish festival, today it ranks—along with Passover and Purim—as one of the most beloved Jewish family holidays.

In the year 168 B.C.E., the Syrian tyrant Antiochus Epiphanes sent his soldiers to Jerusalem. The Syrians desecrated the Temple, the holiest place for Jews at that time. Antiochus also abolished Judaism, outlawing the observance of Shabbat and the Festivals, as well as circumcision. Altars and idols were set up for the worship of Greek gods and he offered Jews two options: conversion or death.

On the 25th day of the Hebrew month of Kislev in 168 B.C.E., the Temple was renamed for the Greek god Zeus. A resistance movement— led by a priestly family known as the Hasmoneans, or Maccabees—developed against the cruelty of Antiochus. The head of the family was Mattathias, an elderly man. His son, Judah, became the chief strategist and military leader of the resistance. Though outnumbered, Judah Maccabee and his fighters miraculously won two major battles, routing the Syrians decisively.

Although historians debate the causes and outcomes of the war in which Judah Maccabee and his followers defeated the Syrian armies of Antiochus, there is no doubt that Hanukkah evokes stirring images of Jewish valor against overwhelming odds. Other themes rooted in the observance of the holiday include the refusal to submit to the religious demands of an empire practicing idolatry, the struggle against total assimilation into Hellenistic culture and loss of Jewish identity, and the fight for Jewish political autonomy and self-determination.

Hanukkah, which means “dedication,” is the festival that commemorates the purification and rededication of the Temple following the defilement caused by the Greeks during their occupation of that holy place. Today, the holiday reminds Jews to rededicate themselves to stand against forces that would destroy Judaism and to keep alive the flame of Jewish religion, culture, and peoplehood so that it may be passed on to the next generation.

Originally, the eight-day holiday was intended to parallel the eight-day festival of Sukkot. The Books of the Maccabees made no mention of the legend concerning a small jar of oil that unexpectedly lasted for eight days. Only centuries after the Maccabees’ defeat of the Syrians did the story of the jar of oil—which has come to be a part of Hanukkah—appear in the Talmud.

According to the legend, when the Maccabees entered the Temple and began to reclaim it from the Greeks, they immediately relit the ner tamid (eternal light), which burned constantly in the Temple and has a parallel in our synagogues to this day. In the Temple, they found a single jar of oil, which was sufficient for only one day. The messenger who was sent to secure additional oil took eight days to complete his mission, and miraculously, the single jar of oil continued to burn until his return. The rabbis of the Talmud attributed the eight days of Hanukkah to the miracle of this single jar of oil.

Although the practice of lighting the menorah was common throughout much of the 19th century, North American Jews tended to neglect most of the other traditions and practices associated with the holiday. By the 1920s, however, Jews increasingly added gift-giving to their Hanukkah celebrations, prompting Christians to refer to Hanukkah as the “Jewish Christmas.”

Like many aspects of Jewish religious practice, the transformation of Hanukkah was linked to the growth of North American Jewry within its unique environment. The elevation of Hanukkah to a major holiday was the result of Jews acculturating themselves to a North America that was overwhelmingly Christian in population and symbols.

Although Hanukkah had become an important holiday among North American Jews by the 1920s, it would be incorrect to regard it as an imitation of Christmas with an emphasis on the exchange of presents. Rather, North American Jews use this holiday as a celebration of family, reinforcing Jewish identity in a place whose population may be overwhelmingly Christian but in which Jews feel at home. Hanukkah, therefore, is a means for North American Jews to feel a kinship with their neighbors, while simultaneously asserting their Jewish distinctiveness.

After having provided all of the above information on Hanukkah, I wish all of my Jewish Friends, “Happy Hanukkah.” May you offer the same greeting to a Jewish person that you may know.

CDC: One in Three NYC Babies Is Aborted

Isn’t it amazing that Democrats yell “racism,” when they are the ones that have as a part of their party platform a plank that calls for abortion of unborn babies, with no restrictions. Consider the position of their last candidate for president, and all of their elected office holders. All of them support abortion on demand, with no restrictions, even up to the time of birth. The Chair of the DNC, and the madam losing candidate of the last presidential election, have said that the democrat party has no place in it for pro-life democrats. Christians who say that they are democrats, and democrats who say that they are Christians, should check out what the Bible says about murder. Please don’t say that because the Supreme Court has ruled that abortion is protected by the constitution, that it is okay to kill a defenseless little baby. Democrat parents are teaching their children that it is okay to kill unborn babies. For such families, consider “The Lake Of Fire On The Family Plan.” (Revelation 20:11-15)

A Christmas Hallelujah

Cloverton is a Kansas-based band, sharing songs from a genuine place of faith and longing. Their take on Leonard Cohen’s classic 1984 hit, “Hallelujah” is the latest in over 300 covers of the song – more than any other song in history.

“And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them, and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the City of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you: Ye shall find the Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men!” (Luke 2:8-14)

There are small restaurants and coffee shops in many cities and towns that present an unusual opportunity for witnessing. In my town there is a quaint and intimate coffee shop that has a piano which is situated near most of the tables where patrons drop in and spend an enjoyable time, consuming hot coffee and tasty muffins, and sharing intimate conversations. There have been times when I have been there enjoying the niceness of an evening that someone would make their way over to the piano and begin planing a series of songs that just “hit the needed spot.” The stresses of the day would seem to disappear from my mind and leave me desiring more of that soul-easing music. I imagine that there are other similar places that have pianos, that can also be played for the pleasure of the customers. Consider the setting that is shown in the video. A young man sits down at a piano in a coffee shop and begins playing a song that is pleasing to the mind of almost anybody, whether Christian, Jew or indifferent. I am certain that there are readers of this post who are musically inclined and talented, and who would like to take such an opportunity to share the message of Christ to people who are usually isolated, or insulated, from such a story of the love of God. Give it a listen; share the story. Consider adding a guitarist, or other musicians, and have a small combo. Always consider ways of creative witnessing (Acts 1:8).

Supporting Scriptures:

Matthew 28:18-20 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB) (33 A.D.)

18 Yeshua came and talked with them. He said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore, go and make people from all nations into talmidim, immersing them into the reality of the Father, the Son and the Ruach HaKodesh, 20 and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember! I will be with you always, yes, even until the end of the age.” (talmadim=disciples)

Acts 17:11 Names of God Bible (NOG) (53 A.D.)

11 The people of Berea were more open-minded than the people of Thessalonica. They were very willing to receive God’s message, and every day they carefully examined the Scriptures to see if what Paul said was true.

Ephesians 4:11-12 Names of God Bible (NOG) (64 A.D.)

11 He also gave apostles, prophets, missionaries, as well as pastors and teachers as gifts to his church. 12 Their purpose is to prepare God’s people to serve and to build up the body of Christ.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 Names of God Bible (NOG) (66 A.D.)

16 Every Scripture passage is inspired by God. All of them are useful for teaching, pointing out errors, correcting people, and training them for a life that has God’s approval. 17 They equip God’s servants so that they are completely prepared to do good things.

Supporting Thought:

Teaching the Word of God is key to the growth of the body of Christ, not only in number but also in purpose and responsibility (Matt 28:18-20). Spiritual leaders (Eph 4:11) are directed to “prepare God’s people to serve and to build up the body of Christ,” (Eph 4:12). Those who receive the teaching of God’s Word will do well to ensure that the teaching that they receive is correct (Acts 17:11). All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching (2 Tim 3:16-17), but it is obvious that the teaching of the end times (eschatology) is sorely lacking in sermons and lessons in many denominations and congregations. It is horrible to think about all of the believers in Christ who believe that they, and their infant children, will become targets of God’s revelation wrath and will end up in the battle of Armageddon. Proper teaching of eschatology will remove such anxiety and fear from those who should know that they are protected by God’s love for them, and that they will not be subject to the wrath of God that has been reserved for people who have not been born again. The teachings of the prophets of Israel show that the enemies of “God’s chosen people,” are Jew-hating gentiles, primarily from Arab and Muslim nations, being supported by Russia and her allies. There is no room for political correctness, in relation to God’s judgment that will come upon those who try to destroy the men, women and children of Israel. Such a threat to the Jews is common place, and has a place in history that is described in the Book Of Esther when the dispersed Jews were residing in Persia.

Esther 3:13 New American Standard Bible (NASB) (515 B.C.)

13 Letters were sent by couriers to all the king’s provinces to destroy, to kill and to annihilate all the Jews, both young and old, women and children, in one day, the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to seize their possessions as plunder.

Specific Scriptural Encouragement For The Study And Teaching Of The End Times

Revelation 1:3 The Voice (VOICE)

3 Blessings come to those who read and proclaim these words aloud; blessings come to those who listen closely and put the prophetic words recorded here into practice. The finale is approaching.

Consider: “The finale is approaching.”

When I was a member of the U.S. Military, there were defense readiness conditions (DEFCONS) that were states of readiness against enemy air attack. The highest state of alert was/is DEFCON 1, which means that “nuclear attack is imminent.” Under DEFCON 1, the U.S. would not know when such an attack would happen, but we were at a state of “Maximum Readiness”, which is the teaching of Revelation 1:3. We don’t know when the end time events will happen, but they are approaching. Therefore, we should be ready for the events of the end times, at all times, by being born again “believers in Christ.” By being born again we will not be subject to the events of the wrath of God, or of the persecutions of the anti-Christ, that will take place during the time of tribulation, as is described in chapters six through nineteen in the Book of Revelation. During that time, the Seal, Trumpet and Bowl judgments are all judgments of God’s wrath. Anyone who is not caught up in the rapture of the church, and taken away to the Presence of God, will be subject to God’s wrath, as well as to the oppressive acts of the anti-Christ.(Rapture:John 14:1-6, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, 1 Corinthians 15:50-53)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DEFCON

Defense readiness conditions vary between many commands and have changed over time, and the United States Department of Defense uses exercise terms when referring to the DEFCONs. This is to preclude the possibility of confusing exercise commands with actual operational commands. On 12 January 1966, NORAD “proposed the adoption of the readiness conditions of the JCS system”, and information about the levels was declassified in 2006:

Readiness condition Exercise term Description Readiness

DEFCON 1 COCKED PISTOL Nuclear war is imminent Maximum readiness

Message to the Seven Churches

7 Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen.

8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

The Patmos Vision

9 I, John, your brother and fellow partaker in the tribulation and kingdom and perseverance which are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. 10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like the sound of a trumpet, 11 saying, “Write in a book what you see, and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea.”

1:7 coming with clouds. This echoes the promise of Daniel: The Son of Man will come with the clouds of heaven (Dan. 7:13)—not ordinary clouds but clouds of glory. In the OT, God often manifested Himself in an energized, blazing light, called the Shekinah or glory cloud. No one could see it fully and live (Ex. 33:20), so it had to be veiled. But when Christ returns, the glory will be completely visible. Cf. Matt. 24:29, 30; 25:31; see notes on 6:12–17. they who pierced. Not a reference to the 4 Roman soldiers usually involved in crucifixion, but to the Jews who were actually responsible for Christ’s death (Acts 2:22, 23; 3:14, 15). Zechariah identified the ones who pierced Him as “the house of David” and “the inhabitants of Jerusalem” and prophesied that they will weep tears of genuine repentance because of what they did to their Messiah (Zech. 12:10). all the tribes…will mourn. The mourning of the rest of the earth’s inhabitants is not that which accompanies genuine repentance (cf. 9:21). It is the result of guilt for sin and fear of punishment (6:16; cf. Gen. 3:8–10).

1:8 Alpha and the Omega. These are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. An alphabet is an ingenious way to store and communicate knowledge. The 26 letters in the English alphabet, arranged in almost endless combinations, can hold and convey all knowledge. Christ is the supreme, sovereign alphabet; there is nothing outside His knowledge, so as there are no unknown factors that can sabotage His second coming. (cf. Col. 2:3). the Almighty. “Almighty God” occurs 8 times in Revelation, underscoring that God’s power is supreme over all the cataclysmic events it records (see also 4:8; 11:17; 15:3; 16:7, 14; 19:15; 21:22). He exercises sovereign control over every person, object, and event, and not one molecule in the universe is outside that dominion.

1:9–18 This vision of Christ is equaled in grandeur only by the vision of His final return as King of kings and Lord of lords (19:11–16).

1:9 tribulation and kingdom and patience. Four characteristics that John and his believing readers share: 1) persecution for their faith; 2) membership in the redeemed community over which Christ serves as Lord and King; 3) eager anticipation of the glory of His coming millennial reign on earth; and 4) endurance and perseverance in spite of difficult times. island…called Patmos. Located in the Aegean Sea off the coast of Asia Minor (modern Turkey) and part of a group of about 50 islands, Patmos is a barren, rocky, crescent-shaped island that is about 10 mi. long and less than 6 mi. at its widest point. It served as a Roman penal colony. According to early Christian historian, Eusebius, the emperor Nerva (A.D. 96–98) released John from Patmos.

1:10 in the Spirit. This was not a dream. John was supernaturally transported out of the material world awake—not sleeping—to an experience beyond the normal senses. The Holy Spirit empowered his senses to perceive revelation from God (cf. Acts 10:11). Lord’s Day. This phrase appears in many early Christian writings and refers to Sunday, the day of the Lord’s resurrection. Some have suggested this phrase refers to “the Day of the Lord,” but the context doesn’t support that interpretation, and the grammatical form of the word “Lord” is adjectival, thus “the Lord’s day.” loud voice. Throughout Revelation, a loud sound or voice indicates the solemnity of what God is about to reveal.

1:11 book. The Gr. word refers to a scroll made of parchment formed from papyrus, a reed that grows plentifully along the Nile.

1:10 John’s statement in verse 10 that he was in the Spirit refers to his experience of being carried beyond normal sense into a state where God could reveal supernaturally the contents of this book. 97 – Truth, Allegory Or Fiction

Re: Left Behind 1: (The Movie) Trailer

To have a good understanding of things that are Jewish, in nature, is an asset that will help anyone to be able to properly relate to such a group of people that is under constant scrutiny and attack by many groups of people. No one can have a full and proper relationship with a Jew, or Jewish business, without understanding key things of Judaism. People of news reporting agencies can not properly report on the people and nation of what many consider to be “God’s chosen people,” unless they have a good knowledge of their culture and religious beliefs. Jews are largely successful in matters of business and family. Jews own businesses that employ non-Jews, and help those people to be successful when they start their own businesses. From the beginning of time, there has been an attempt to remove from the face of Planet Earth, anything, and everything, that is said to be Jewish. Having grown up in a Jewish neighborhood, and having attended school with Jewish children, it makes no sense to me why so many people around the world hate Jews. The size of the nation of Israel is approximately the size of the state of New Jersey. The population of Israel is 8,585,000. Of the total population of Israel, there are about 6,419,000 Jews. Surrounding Israel are more than 350,000,000 non-Jews. However, even with such a disparity of size and population, Israel is all too often said to be the cause of all of the problems of the middle east. It is easy to see that Israel is constantly coming under more and more criticism of the United Nations, as well as by the governments of many UN member nations.

The opening scenes in the movie, “Left Behind 1,” show an attack on Israel that will take place in the future. The attack is mentioned in the prophecy of the thirty-eighth chapter of the book of Ezekiel. Jews believe that the prophecy was written by the Jewish prophet, Ezekiel, as it was received from God. The date of the prophecy is 587 B.C. The movie shows an attack on Israel ending in failure, without the Israeli forces having confronted the attackers. Jews believe that God is in control, that God will guide the attacking forces to Israel, that He will cause the attacking forces to attack Israel (Ezekiel 38:4), and that God will defeat the attacking forces. The events of Ezekiel 38 are not an allegory. Consider the words of Ezekiel 38:23: “I shall magnify Myself, sanctify myself, and make Myself known in the sight of many nations; and they will know that I am the Lord.” Many Christians also believe the prophecies of Ezekiel. Consider the words of Ezekiel 1:3. “the word of the Lord came expressly to Ezekiel the priest, son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and there the hand of the Lord came upon him.” (NASB). Ezekiel had been taken captive by the forces of King Nebuchadnezzar from Jerusalem to Babylon in 595 B.C. The prophecies of Ezekiel were meant to be words of encouragement for other captive Jews who had also been taken to Babylon in the deportations of 605, 597 or 586 B.C.

Following the attack on Israel, day quickly becomes night. Scenes of worldwide chaos develop. Millions of people are missing in all areas of the world. The masses are panic stricken. Lawlessness and an unstable world help to usher in a desire for someone who will be able to bring peace and safety to the world. A charismatic leader comes onto the scene, and is given the authority to stabilize the world under the authority of the United Nations. An enabling media gives credence to everything that comes from, and through, the new UN leader, whose goal is to bring under his control a worldwide government, which will oversee an international military, financial system and religion. In essence, everything in the world will come under the control of the United Nations leader.

The events that are described in Ezekiel’s writings are highly respected by Jews, as being the Word of God. Jews believe that God’s Word, which was given by God to the prophet Ezekiel, was to be told to Jews, who are also known as the children of Israel. Jews also respect the writings of Jewish prophets, other than Ezekiel, as do many Christians. The writings of all of the prophets of Israel will be discussed in future articles that relate to the subject of Israel in the end times.

As it relates to eschatology, many mainline denominations teach that Israel has been replaced by the church to receive the end times blessings that God has promised for the Jews. There are many churches, and church groups, that teach that scriptures that relate to the end times are an allegory. Many people believe that eschatology is a subject of fiction. All too often, churches put Jews in a category of “less than proper respect,” as opposed to respecting them as “God’s chosen people,” of whom will be protected by God.

As you consider the information in this article, it will be a time for you to determine in your mind if the future attack on Israel will be an event of truth, allegory or fiction. For those considerimg themselves to be conservative, evangelical or pentecostal, they may be more inclined to view end times teachings to be matters of truth. For those of the liberal mainline protestant denominational churches, which are reform in nature, they may be of the allegorical persuasion in their beliefs of the end times. For people who are agnostic, atheistic or of a unitarian belief, they may put a fiction tag on everything that relates to the end of times study. Maybe I’m wrong. Please let me know. We’ll still be friends. (no lol)

Those, of whom say that they are Christians, should seriously consider the following two verses.

Deuteronomy 7:6 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

6 For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for His own possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.

Zechariah 2:8 New Living Translation (NLT)

8 After a period of glory, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies sent me against the nations who plundered you. For he said, “Anyone who harms you harms my most precious possession.

38 And the word of the Lord came to me saying, 2 “Son of man, set your face toward Gog of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him 3 and say, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “Behold, I am against you, O Gog, prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal. 4 I will turn you about and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you out, and all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them splendidly attired, a great company with buckler and shield, all of them wielding swords; 5 Persia, Ethiopia and Put with them, all of them with shield and helmet; 6 Gomer with all its troops; Beth-togarmah from the remote parts of the north with all its troops—many peoples with you.

Consider the Jews.

Abraham was called a Hebrew. The people of the descendants of Jacob, came to be known as Jews, based on the name of Jacob’s son, Judah.

In spite of the tumultuous history of the Jews, they consider themselves to be a specially blessed people of God. Many Christians also have that same belief that Jews hold dearly, that the Jews are “God’s chosen people,” and have a Divine protection and purpose. Jews believe that God led them out of the more than 400 year bondage to Egypt to their promised land, which will always be their land of Israel. Jews believe that while they were on their journey to what is now the land of Israel, that God gave them the Law, which included the ten commandments and the six hundred thirteen Torah laws. Jews believe that God gave the Sabbath to them, and that the Messiah will come from the bloodline of the Jews. Jews also hold to a belief that God has provided for them a very special place of prominence in the future Messianic Kingdom. Many Christians also hold to these Jewish beliefs.

So, how did we arrive at the thirty-eighth chapter of Ezekiel? Well, let’s take a look back. We could go back to the time of creation but, let’s not do that. I think that the year 1920 B.C. will be sufficient, so, here we go. We will continue with future posts that will tell more of the history and beliefs of the Jews, and how they fit into the study of the end times.

1920 B.C. A descendant of Noah was Abram, who became Abraham. God promised Abram that he would become a great nation through his descendants. This promise of God is known as the Abrahamic Covenant.

1918 B.C. God promised Abram’s covenant descendants a land that overlies the current land of Israel, and beyond. That gift was made to the covenant seed of Abram forever. The covenant seed of Abraham would be through his covenant son, Issac, and through Issac’s covenant son, Jacob.

1732 B.C. God changed Jacob’s name to Israel, and reconfirmed the Abrahamic seed covenant with Jacob. Jacob fathered twelve sons and one daughter.

1729-1702 B.C. All of the family of Jacob (Israel) made their way to Egypt. In total, seventy members of the house of Jacob/Israel made their new home in Egypt, with Jacob’s next to youngest son, Joseph, being the first one to arrive. Famine had gripped the land of Egypt and neighboring countries, including Canaan, which was where Jacob/Israel had made their home, and was in the present land area of Israel. Joseph was made the Prime Minister of Egypt by the Pharaoh. Through Joseph’s leadership, Egypt was saved from the famine. Neighboring countries, including Canaan, also received aid from Joseph. Jacob lived in Egypt for seventeen years. Soon, before Jacob died, he called all of his sons to him and blessed them. Jacob repeated the covenant to Joseph. After Jacob died, his sons took his body to Canaan for burial in a family plot.

1689-1635 B.C. Sometime later, Joseph died and was buried in Egypt. Before he died, he told his brothers that God would take them from Egypt to the covenant land that God had made known to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. During the exodus of Israel from Egypt, the bones of Joseph were taken with them. As time passed on, the luster that Joseph and the children of Israel had had with the Pharaoh of their time began to tarnish. A new king of Egypt began to treat the Israelites with great afflictions. The king also directed the Hebrew midwives to kill the newborn male Israelite children. Things haven’t changed.

“15 Then the king of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew midwives, one of whom was named Shiphrah and the other was named Puah; 16 and he said, “When you are helping the Hebrew women to give birth and see them upon the birthstool, if it is a son, then you shall put him to death; but if it is a daughter, then she shall live.” (Exodus 1:15-16, NASB)

This is also a time period that Jews believe that Moses, who was born a Jew but was spared his own infant-birth murder, was taken into the house of the Pharaoh to be raised as a child of the daughter of the Pharaoh. Amazingly, the birth mother, through the slight of hand of the sister of Moses, became the nurse of Moses. Moses lived as an Egyptian for forty years, and was educated as an Egyptian. Jews and Christians believe that Moses wrote the first five books of the Bible, through the inspiration of God.

1531-1491 B.C. This is a time that Jews believe that God was preparing Moses to lead the Jews out of Egyptian bondage. The Pharaoh did not want the Jews to leave Egypt, but he gave in, “due to divine pressure.”

1491-1451 B.C. This is the time of the exodus of the Jews from Egypt. Key events of this time are the giving of the law and the Sabbath to the Jews by God, and the building of the tabernacle in the desert. Moses died while enroute to the promised land, but saw it from atop Mount Pisgah, which overlooks the Jordan River. Jews believe that God allowed Moses to see the covenant land that had been promised to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Jews also believe that God buried Moses on that mountain, as do Christians.

1451-1427 B.C. Joshua succeeded Moses as the theocratic leader of Israel, and led them as they crossed over the Jordan River and traveled throughout, and settled in, the covenant land of Canaan. The land was apportioned to the Israelites, as had been directed by God. Joshua died and was buried in Mount Ephraim. The bones of Joseph, which had been carried by the Israelites, were buried in Shechem, in a parcel of land that had been bought by Jacob, the father of Joseph.

1425-1050 B.C. Israel was ruled by a succession of judges, rather than kings. There were fifteen people who served as judges, beginning with Othniel, and ending with Samuel.

1050-931 B.C. Israel was ruled by three kings, Saul, David and Solomon; Solomon was the son of David. It was King Solomon that built the temple in Jerusalem in 959 B.C. Saul was king from 1050-1010 B.C. David was king from 1010-970 B.C. Solomon was king from 970-931 B.C. After the death of King Solomon, in 931 B.C., dysfunction took place; a divided kingdom of Israel was the result.

931-586 B.C. Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, became the king of the southern Kingdom of Israel, in Jerusalem, possessing two tribes of Israel (Judah and Benjamin), and was known as Judah. Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, became the King of the remaining tribes of Israel, moving them to the north; they became known as Israel. In 722 B.C., the northern tribes of Israel were attacked by the King of Assyria and were taken in exile to Assyria. Northern Israel had also become known as “Samaria,” hence, “the good Samaritan.” Once the people of Israel were deported, gentiles were moved into the land from where the Jews in northern Israel had been removed. The King of Babylon overran Jerusalem in 586 B.C., and destroyed the temple and the walls of the city. Then he deported the Jews to Babylon. There were actually three assaults on Jerusalem by the Babylonians (605, 597, and 586 B.C.). After each attack, Jews from Jerusalem were taken by the Babylonians captive to Babylon. Buddha lived from 563-483 B.C. Muhammed lived from 570-632 A.D.

586 B.C. to Current Day. The Jews who were taken captive by the Assyrians never returned to Israel, as a people group. The Jews who were taken captive to Babylon began returning to Israel, due to a decree of King Cyrus of Persia, who had overthrown Babylonian rule in 539 B.C. In 536 B.C., 49,997 Jews returned to Jerusalem from their Babylonian captivity. The Temple (515 B.C.) and city walls of Jerusalem (445 B.C.) were rebuilt. Some Jews, who were in Babylon, never returned to Jerusalem, per the Book of Esther. There was even an attempt to annihilate all Jews in Persia, which is present day Iran. Things haven’t changed.

13 Letters were sent by couriers to all the king’s provinces to destroy, to kill and to annihilate all the Jews, both young and old, women and children, in one day, the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to seize their possessions as plunder. (Esther 3:13, NASB)

In the year of A.D. 70, The Roman General, Titus, overran and destroyed the city of Jerusalem, and the temple. More than one million Jews were murdered by the Romans. The Jews would be scattered throughout the world. See the article, which follows.

When the Temple was destroyed in A.D. 70 the period of the second exile began. The Jewish people were soon to be scattered throughout the earth. For the next 1900 years the Jews would have no authority in the land God gave to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. However during most of the period of this Second Exile there have always been some Jews living in Jerusalem. Although most of the nation was in exile from their land, the Jews did not forget Jerusalem or the Temple Mount. Their daily prayer was for the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem. The traditional Jewish prayer book contains the following passage:

Because of our sins we were exiled from our country and banished from our land. We cannot go up as pilgrims to worship Thee, to perform our duties in Thy chosen house, the great and Holy Temple which was called by Thy name, on account of the hand that was let loose on Thy sanctuary. May it be Thy will, Lord our God and God of our fathers, merciful King, in Thy abundant love again to have mercy on us and on Thy sanctuary; rebuild it speedily and magnify its glory.

For the next two thousand years, the Temple Mount would lack any Jewish presence. The destruction of the Temple in A.D. 70 caused the beginning of the scattering of the Jews throughout the world. During this period, the Temple Mount was for the most part neglected and profaned. Though this time constituted a period of neglect some significant events concerning Jerusalem and the Temple Mount did occur. More information on this time period of Temple Mount history is given in Tuvia Sagiv’s writings.

On May 14, 1948, Israel was granted statehood by the United Nations. Jews have been streaming back to “their covenant land” ever since. See the following article.

http://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/state-of-israel-proclaimed

On May 14, 1948, in Tel Aviv, Jewish Agency Chairman David Ben-Gurion proclaims the State of Israel, establishing the first Jewish state in 2,000 years. In an afternoon ceremony at the Tel Aviv Art Museum, Ben-Gurion pronounced the words “We hereby proclaim the establishment of the Jewish state in Palestine, to be called Israel,” prompting applause and tears from the crowd gathered at the museum. Ben-Gurion became Israel’s first premier.

In the distance, the rumble of guns could be heard from fighting that broke out between Jews and Arabs immediately following the British army withdrawal earlier that day. Egypt launched an air assault against Israel that evening. Despite a blackout in Tel Aviv–and the expected Arab invasion–Jews joyously celebrated the birth of their new nation, especially after word was received that the United States had recognized the Jewish state. At midnight, the State of Israel officially came into being upon termination of the British mandate in Palestine. (Continued in link)

The attack on Israel and the Jews never ends. Hitler tried to exterminate the Jews. German citizens at that time were aware of the torture and murder of Holocaust Jews, which took place outside nearby German cities. Mainline Christian churches of today have taken actions to divest themselves of anything that is of Israel. Traditional news media outlets have an anti-Israel bias in their reporting. Consider the following video report that is very telling of the current day hostility to Israel.

The following videos relate to the Ezekiel 38 prophecy.
