Bowl Judgments, And Beyond
Will the church go through the tribulation? Read on!
Tribulation Judgments.
A discussion of the Seal Judgments of the tribulation can be found in its own blog post. A discussion of the Trumpet Judgments can also be found in its own post. This particular post video discusses the Bowl Judgments, but also discusses other factors that cover chapters 14-19 of the Book of Revelation.
Seal judgments.Trumpet judgments. Bowl judgments.
Matthew 24:21 NASB
“For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will. (“For then,” identifies a time after the rapture of the church has taken place.)
Matthew 24:29-31 NASB
“But immediately after the tribulation of those days,” (This is the event of the second coming of Christ, which takes place at the end of the tribulation.)
As you read the descriptions of all that will take place during each of the Bowl Judgments, you will have to come to grips with a belief of many that there will be no rapture or tribulation. Such a belief would cast of shadow of allegory over the truth of God’s Holy Word. To believe that there will be no pre-tribulation rapture means that everybody in the world will have to endure the tribulation’s wrath of God, which will be made manifest through the tribulation judgments. In this series of judgments, you can see that angels will be responsible for unleashing each judgment on “all who dwell on the earth” (Revelation 3:10), and that the anti-Christ has nothing to do with the unleashing of these judgments of God, which truly are “judgments of God.” To believe that the whole world’s population will be left on earth during the tribulation will also be a belief that infants, unborn babies, two-year old babies, etc., will be the targets of each judgment. So, let me ask you to look at your child, or someone else’s child and ask, “why God?” You will have to look at yourself too, if you are a born again believer in Christ, and ask, “why God?” By being in the midst of God’s wrath and judgments, nobody who has been born again…having the Spirit of Christ dwelling within their spirit…will be made any more holy, than the holiness which they acquired when they were born again, and became “the righteousness of God in Christ,” (2 Corinthians 5:17, 21).
The Righteousness Of Born Again Believers In Christ
2 Corinthians 5:17 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.”
2 Corinthians 5:21 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
“He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”
Christ In Born Again Believers
Colossians 1:27 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
“to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
Born Again Believers in God
1 John 1:5 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
“This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.”
Born again believers in Christ have become “the righteousness of God.”
Bowl Judgments
The seven bowl judgments of the tribulation can be found in the Book of Revelation, in Chapters 15 and 16 (15:1-16:21). The bowl judgments are much more severe than those of the preceding seal and trumpet judgments. For example, the bowl judgments will include: 1. Malignant sores. 2. Sea turned to blood. 3. Fresh waters to blood. 4. Human beings scorched with fire. 5. Darkness over the kingdom of the Beast. 6. Invasion from the east. 7. Greatest earthquake and widespread destruction. (Ryrie Study Bible). Each of the judgments are those of God, and are carried out by angels. Please remember that neither Satan, nor the Anti-Christ, has any control over any of the judgments. The tribulation judgments are tools of God’s wrath that will be poured out on a sinful and rebellious world.
Revelation 15 New King James Version (NKJV)
Prelude to the Bowl Judgments
1 Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous: seven angels having the seven last plagues, for in them the wrath of God is complete.
2 And I saw something like a sea of glass mingled with fire, and those who have the victory over the beast, over his image and over his mark and over the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, having harps of God. 3 They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying:
“Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints!
4 Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy. For all nations shall come and worship before You, For Your judgments have been manifested.”
5 After these things I looked, and behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened. 6 And out of the temple came the seven angels having the seven plagues, clothed in pure bright linen, and having their chests girded with golden bands. 7 Then one of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God who lives forever and ever. 8 The temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from His power, and no one was able to enter the temple till the seven plagues of the seven angels were completed.
Revelation 16 New King James Version (NKJV)
1 Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, “Go and pour out the bowls of the wrath of God on the earth.”
First Bowl: Loathsome Sores
2 So the first went and poured out his bowl upon the earth, and a foul and loathsome sore came upon the men who had the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image.
Second Bowl: The Sea Turns to Blood
3 Then the second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it became blood as of a dead man; and every living creature in the sea died.
Third Bowl: The Waters Turn to Blood
4 Then the third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water, and they became blood. 5 And I heard the angel of the waters saying:
“You are righteous, O Lord, The One who is and who was and who is to be, Because You have judged these things. 6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, And You have given them blood to drink.
For it is their just due.”
7 And I heard another from the altar saying, “Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments.”
Fourth Bowl: Men Are Scorched
8 Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire. 9 And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory.
Fifth Bowl: Darkness and Pain
10 Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom became full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues because of the pain. 11 They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and did not repent of their deeds.
Sixth Bowl: Euphrates Dried Up
12 Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared. 13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
15 “Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.”
16 And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon.
Seventh Bowl: The Earth Utterly Shaken
17 Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, “It is done!” 18 And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth. 19 Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath. 20 Then every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. 21 And great hail from heaven fell upon men, each hailstone about the weight of a talent. Men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, since that plague was exceedingly great.
Note. Consider the words of Ron Rhodes, about the liberal church that he and his family had attended. Just as their congregation did not teach the word of God, in its fullness, there are many other churches and denominations that are also guilty of not preaching and teaching the full gospel of Christ.
Consider Isaiah 7:14, as it was written in the New Revised Standard Version. The copyright date of that Bible was 1989. The National Council of Churches of Christ In The United States Of America translated the New Revised Standard Version. Consider the text, as follows.
Isaiah 7:14 New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
“Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Look, the young woman is with child and shall bear a son, and shall name him Immanuel.”
The error in translating that verse is very severe. There is no mention of the virgin birth of Christ. It is true that Mary was a young woman. However, it is of extreme spiritual importance for Mary to be identified as being the virgin, “which she was.”
The link that follows shows the churches and denominations who are members of the National Council Of Churches Of Christ in the United States Of America. By being a member of the National Council of Churches, each member church and denomination is agreeing with the erroneous translation of Isaiah 7:14.
If your church or denomination is a member of the National of Churches, there is a serious problem that needs to be addressed by you and your family. Do you stay in a denomination that has more of a social gospel, as opposed to an evangelical gospel of calling unsaved people to saving faith in Christ? The road to the “lake of fire” (Revelation 20:11-15) is paved with good intentions. But, as a parent, do you allow your impressionable children to be led to the lake of fire by those of teaching error, of “noble intentions,” to include yourself? Once someone is in the lake of fire, “there is no getting out;” its punishment is eternal!(Luke 16:19-26; Revelation 20:10).
