Israel Prophecy And Current Era 6-9-18

Where do Jews believe the Temple will be built? As we have been studying the Jewish Prophets Of Israel, we have discussed the Jewish Temple. The Jewish people have a strong tie to the Temple, and have a great desire for it to be rebuilt. Consider the following time line, as it relates to the building and destruction of the Temple at various times in the history of Israel.

1491 B.C. God commissioned the construction of the tabernacle/sanctuary (Exodus 25:8-9).
1490 B.C. The tabernacle in the desert was completed (Exodus 40:33).
1015 B.C. God commissioned King Solomon to build the first temple in Jerusalem (1 Chronicles 28:6).
1004 B.C. Solomon finished the construction of the temple in Jerusalem (2 Chronicles 5:1).
925 B.C. Shishak, king of Egypt, takes the city; the temple is plundered. (2 Chronicles 12:9).
850 B.C. The Philistines, Arabians, and Ethiopians lay siege to Jerusalem (2 Chronicles 21:16). The King’s palace is sacked and the Temple plundered.
586 B.C. The forces of Nebuchadnezzar destroyed the temple in Jerusalem (2 Chronicles 36:19).
515 B.C. The Temple was rebuilt in Jerusalem, being known as Zerubbabel’s Temple (Haggai 1:1-15).
63 A.D. Herod’s Temple, which was a remodeling of Zerubbabel’s temple, was completed in 4 B.C., but was not totally completed until 63 A.D.
70 A.D.Herod’s Temple was destroyed by the Romans.

History Of Jerusalem

During its long history, Jerusalem has been attacked 52 times, captured and recaptured 44 times, besieged 23 times, and destroyed twice.The oldest part of the city was settled in the 4th millennium BCE, making Jerusalem one of the oldest cities in the world.

It is interesting to know that the name of Jerusalem is never mentioned in the Quran.

While Jerusalem is mentioned in the Bible (Tanach) over 500 times, it is NEVER mentioned in the Quran, not once!
