I. INTRODUCTION

Soldiers, young men. Soldiers on the ground; soldiers in the air. Soldiers planning the fight; soldiers going to the fight; soldiers in the fight. Soldiers in large trucks; soldiers in small trucks; soldiers in helicopters. Soldiers walking; soldiers running. Soldiers shooting at the enemy; the enemy shooting back. Expressions on the faces of soldiers. The expression of one young soldier seated in a helicopter “taking him to the fight” sticks in my mind; I wonder….. In this video footage of soldiers at Khe Sanh Combat Base, South Vietnam, most of the soldiers are very young, with most of them being in their early twenties, some older. The ones that survived the war, and are alive today, would be in their early to mid-seventies, and older. Many of the soldiers went to war, having previously accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior; the death that they suffered in war was a step leading them to the Presence of Christ for rewards (2 Corinthians 5:8). In the coming “Day Of The Lord” during the Tribulation, there will be war. No place on Earth will be safe. Of those soldiers, whom will be left behind from the rapture of the saints, it will be because they had not been born again. At the time of the deaths of the unsaved tribulation soldiers, their presence will be at the great white throne judgment (Revelation 20:11-15).

II. DAY OF THE LORD

A. “The Day Of The Lord” is a time ahead of us that will include war, which will be a part of the Tribulation. There will also be a time of peace, which will be a part of the Millennium.

B. Revelation 6:4, New Living Translation
Then another horse appeared, a red one. Its rider was given a mighty sword and the authority to take peace from the earth. And there was war and slaughter everywhere.

C. Per J. Dwight Pentecost (Deceased), “Things To Come,””The Day Of The Lord,” pp 230-231, “The Day Of The Lord” will consist of (1) the tribulation, (2) the second coming of Christ, (3) and the thousand-year millennial reign of Christ on earth (also known as the Kingdom Age and the millennium). The Day Of The Lord is that extended period of time beginning with God’s dealing with Israel after the rapture at the beginning of the tribulation period and extending through the second advent and the millennial age unto the creation of the new heavens and new earth after the millennium.

D. There are total opposite conditions that will exist during the Day Of The Lord in , (1) the Tribulation, and in (2) the Millennium. Consider the following two passages of scripture.

E. Joel 3:9-10 New Living Translation (NLT) – Day Of The Lord – Tribulation – War
9 Say to the nations far and wide: “Get ready for war! Call out your best warriors. Let all your fighting men advance for the attack. 10 Hammer your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears. Train even your weaklings to be warriors.

F. Isaiah 2:4 New Living Translation (NLT) – Day Of The Lord – Millennium – Peace
4 The Lord will mediate between nations and will settle international disputes. They will hammer their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will no longer fight against nation,
nor train for war anymore.

III. SCRIPTURAL BASIS FOR THE TRIBULATIONS

A. All of us read research material that has been written by other people. Whenever we undertake a study of scripture, such as that of the end times, it is important for us to know that the authors of our reference material have been provided by scholars whom have been found to be well-grounded, and highly respected by other scholars, in their studies and application of scripture.

B. The Day Of the Lord will follow the Day of Grace. During the Day Of The Lord, the Judgments of God will be poured out on all of the earth. At the beginning of the Day Of The Lord, Christ will descend form Heaven with His previously raptured saints. Judgment will be executed on the foes of Christ. Christ will take possession of the earth, with His accompanying saints assisting Him, which will last for one thousand years (millennium).

C. The following scriptures discuss The Day Of The Lord, as well as many others. Notice God’s judgment in each verse.

1. Isaiah 13:9 New American Standard 1977
Behold, the day of the LORD is coming, Cruel, with fury and burning anger, To make the land a desolation; And He will exterminate its sinners from it.

2. Thessalonians 5:2 New American Standard Bible
For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night.

3. Peter 3:10 New American Standard 1977
But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up.

D. The Day Of The Lord is included in the Tribulation. The following verses show such a time placement of the Tribulation in the Day Of The Lord. Nations of the world will attacking Israel; the United States Of America will be a part of the attacking force. Notice that the conversation that took place on the Mount Olives was private, only among Christ and His Jewish disciples; it was about a future series of events that relate to Israel and the Jews. The message of Christ would not be witnessed to Gentiles until “Acts 10:34-44, 41 A.D., by Peter; and Acts 13:42-49, 45 A.D., by Paul,” (Dates from Scofield Study Bible). The gospel message of Peter on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-41) was preached to Jews (Acts 2:5-14).

IV. MOUNT OF OLIVES DISCOURSE

A. Matthew 24:3 NASB “As He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

1. “A private conversation among Christ and His disciples.”

V. BIRTH PANGS

A. Matthew 24:6-8 You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. 8 But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.

1. “War. Cosmic disturbances. Global unrest. Jews and Israel will be objects of the anti-christ’s hate.”

VI. TRIBULATION

A. Matthew 24:9 NASB 9 “Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name.

1. “Tribulation begins. Israel and Jews are the targets of the tribulation.”

VII. GREAT TRIBULATION

A. Matthew 24:21 NASB 21 For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now,

1. “Great tribulation begins; greater than any other since creation.”

B. Matthew 24:22 NASB 22 Unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.

1. Matthew 24:22 NASB Jews and Gentiles that miss the rapture, but come to accept Christ as savior, during the Tribulation, will be exterminated by the forces of the anti-christ. Without the return of Christ to save “the saved Jews,” no saved Jew or saved Gentile will survive the genocide of the anti-christ. Jews are the elect of God (Deu 14:2).

VIII. THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST – Judgment

A. Matthew 24:29-31 NASB 29 “But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. 31 And He will send forth His angels with a great trumpet and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other for entry into the Kingdom of for judgment, and death.”

1. AFTER THE TRIBULATION. Cosmic disturbances take place. Christ returns to earth with great power of glory (Dan 7:13; Zech 14:1-4; Rev 19:11-21). Those whom had rejected Christ will see Him at his return (Revelation 1:7). Angels gather up the Jews (elect) from all of the earth for judgment.

IX. JUDGMENTS OF CHRIST – LIFE AND DEATH – JEWS

A. Taken And Left Behind

1. Matthew 24:36-41 NASB 36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. 37 For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. 38 For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be. 40 Then there will be two men in the field; one will be taken and one will be left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one will be left.

2. Matt 24:36-41. “One taken, and one left.” THIS IS NOT THE RAPTURE. THIS IS THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST. Mt 24:40-41 tells about Jews that are left behind from the rapture. One Jew will be taken to judgment, and death; the other Jew will be left behind to enter the Kingdom, and have eternal life. Those Jews that are left behind to enter the Kingdom are “real Israel” (Romans 11:26); they have been born again (John 3:3); they are believers in Christ (John 3:16). The only way that anyone can enter the Kingdom of God is to be born again (John 3:3). “No one knows the day or hour,” relates to the second coming of Christ, and is not addressed in verses relating to the rapture. “The flood came and took them all away,” relates to the people of Noah’s time who were not righteous.”

a. John Walvoord (Deceased), commentary on Matthew (24:39)”took them all away,” ‘referring to the judgment of unbelievers (in Noah’s time); so at the second coming, some will be taken away for judgment,’ “for judgment preceding the establishment of the kingdom.”

b. John Walvoord, commentary on Matthew, (24:40), “the one who is left (righteous Jew), is left to enter the Kingdom; the one who is taken (unrighteous Jew), is taken to judgment.” This is in keeping with the illustration of the time of Noah when the ones taken away (in the flood) are the unbelievers. Because at the rapture believers will be taken out of the world, some have confused this (teaching of Mt 24:39-40) with the rapture of the church.

X. JUDGMENTS OF CHRIST – LIFE AND DEATH – GENTILES

A. The Judgment Of The Nations/Gentiles. The Sheep and Goat Judgment.

1. Matthew 25:31-33 (NASB) 31 “But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; 33 and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left.

a. Tribulation Gentiles will also have the same treatment as that of the tribulation Jews . Those whom accepted Christ as Savior during the tribulation will be left behind to inherit the Kingdom and eternal life (Matt 25:34). Those Gentiles whom did not accept Christ during the tribulation will be taken to judgment and death (Matt 25:41) (The context of the Gentile judgment is Mt 25:31-46). “All the nations,” relates to the gentiles of the world. The sheep, “on the right,” are gentiles whom have accepted Christ as Lord and Savior, and have been born again. The goats, “on the left,” are gentiles whom have not accepted Christ as Lord and Savior, and have “not” been born again. vs 32, “nations” relates to those whom are, “distinct from Israel, Gentiles;” they are not specific nations. https://biblehub.com/greek/1484.htm

2. Matthew 25:34-40 (NASB) – 34 “Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35 For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; 36 naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? 38 And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? 39 When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’

a. “Unto The Least Of These,” is often taught to relate to today’s “day to day” benevolence. However, in this passage, Christ is discussing gentiles in the tribulation whom have shown compassion to “these brothers of mine,” whom are “Jews.” The gentiles show that by showing compassion on the Jews during the tribulation, that they (gentiles) have come to saving faith in Christ. “Inherit the Kingdom prepared for you,” relates to the Kingdom Age as being a predetermined place of dwelling for unbelieving gentiles, whom will miss the rapture, but will come to saving faith in Christ during the tribulation. Through belief in Christ, through the new birth, these “tribulation gentile saints,” will enter the Kingdom age and continue on into the new heaven, new earth and new Jerusalem. At the time of their new birth, these gentiles inherit eternal life.

3. Matthew 25:41-46 (NASB) – 41 “Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels; 42 for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink; 43 I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.’ 44 Then they themselves also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?’ 45 Then He will answer them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ 46 These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

a. Those tribulation gentiles, whom did not show compassion toward the Jews of the tribulation (God’s chosen people), had not been born again; they had not come to saving faith in Christ. As a consequences of their not being born again, these gentiles will be taken to judgment and the lake of fire (Rev 20:11-15). vs 46 also restates the reward of eternal life for those whom will have been born again during the tribulation.

Israel 9 – Exodus 14

The Fifth Dimension ≈ AQUARIUS ≈ Let The SUNSHINE In, 1969 – Billy Davis Jr.(lead singer), Marilyn McCoo (brown hair), Florence LaRue, Lamonte McLemore (yellow shirt), and Ronald Townson

The expression, “Age of Aquarius,” in popular culture usually refers to the heyday of the hippie and New Age movements in the 1960s and 1970s. Other descriptions of the Age of Aquarius can be found in the following link. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_Aquarius “Peace and love” often found embodiment in such songs as this one. Consider the Jews. When the Israelites saw the Red Sea before them, and the rushing Egyptian army behind them, did they have feelings of harmony, understanding, peace, love, sympathy, etc., in relation to their future? Consider Noah. Did he, and his family, feel God’s protection before they were, “brought safely through the water.” (Genesis 6:7, 1 Peter 3:20).

Israel 9 – Exodus 14 – Preliminary

Consider the following CBN interview that adds credible evidence to the subject that will be studied in this article.

CBN News: Ryan Mauro Discusses “Finding the Mountain of Moses: The Real Mt Sinai in Saudi Arabia”

In this CBN video, notice the mention of the “underwater land bridge.” Such an underwater pass would be necessary for the passage of the Israelites through the Red Sea, due to the depth of the sea. From the Israel 7 article, this statement can be found: (1) How could the fleeing Israelites (some very old and some very young, and some in very poor health and some in very good health), walk downward from the edge of the shore, a distance of 5500 feet, and then walk upward, a distance of 5500 feet, onto the far shore? It was through the work of God, in creation or in some other sovereign act, that made the underwater land bridge; and, it was only through the leading of God that His chosen people were directed to that “Godly prepared area,” that would lead the Jews to safety through the sea.

Israel 9 – Exodus 14 Ongoing

In the following verses we will consider things that relate to the fleeing Israelites and to the pursuing Egyptians. But, don’t overlook the Presence of God in each incident, as well as of His purposes.

Exodus 14:1-12 (New American Standard Bible) Pharaoh in Pursuit

1 Now the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Tell the sons of Israel to turn back and camp before Pi-hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea; you shall camp in front of Baal-zephon, opposite it, by the sea. 3 For Pharaoh will say of the sons of Israel, ‘They are wandering aimlessly in the land; the wilderness has shut them in.’ 4 Thus I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will chase after them; and I will be honored through Pharaoh and all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord.” And they did so.

5 When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled, Pharaoh and his servants had a change of heart toward the people, and they said, “What is this we have done, that we have let Israel go from serving us?” 6 So he made his chariot ready and took his people with him; 7 and he took six hundred select chariots, and all the other chariots of Egypt with officers over all of them. 8 The Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and he chased after the sons of Israel as the sons of Israel were going out boldly. 9 Then the Egyptians chased after them with all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, his horsemen and his army, and they overtook them camping by the sea, beside Pi-hahiroth, in front of Baal-zephon.

10 As Pharaoh drew near, the sons of Israel looked, and behold, the Egyptians were marching after them, and they became very frightened; so the sons of Israel cried out to the Lord. 11 Then they said to Moses, “Is it because there were no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you dealt with us in this way, bringing us out of Egypt? 12 Is this not the word that we spoke to you in Egypt, saying, ‘Leave us alone that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness.”

Note 2. God told the Israelites to camp by the sea so that later He could deliver them miraculously.
Note 3. The Egyptians would note Israel’s route of escape, note the change in direction (v. 2), and conclude “that they were bewildered.” All of this was orchestrated by God.
Note 4. “then I will harden Pharaoh’s heart.” When Moses and Aaron had first approached Pharaoh (5:1–9), he had treated them, and their God, with contempt. With Pharaoh’s final defeat, the Name, “the Lord/Yahweh,” and Yahweh’s association with the people of Israel would be known and honored.
Note 6,7. “he made ready his chariot.”At Pharaoh’s command, the chariots pursued the Jews.
Note 8. “the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh,” as He had promised in 14:4. The purpose is nearing.

Exodus 14:13-31 (New American Standard Bible) The Sea Is Divided

13 But Moses said to the people, “Do not fear! Stand by and see the salvation of the Lord which He will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see them again forever. 14 The Lord will fight for you while you keep silent.”

15 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the sons of Israel to go forward. 16 As for you, lift up your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, and the sons of Israel shall go through the midst of the sea on dry land. 17 As for Me, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they will go in after them; and I will be honored through Pharaoh and all his army, through his chariots and his horsemen. 18 Then the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord, when I am honored through Pharaoh, through his chariots and his horsemen.”

19 The angel of God, who had been going before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud moved from before them and stood behind them. 20 So it came between the camp of Egypt and the camp of Israel; and there was the cloud along with the darkness, yet it gave light at night. Thus the one did not come near the other all night.

21 Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord swept the sea back by a strong east wind all night and turned the sea into dry land, so the waters were divided. 22 The sons of Israel went through the midst of the sea on the dry land, and the waters were like a wall to them on their right hand and on their left. 23 Then the Egyptians took up the pursuit, and all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots and his horsemen went in after them into the midst of the sea. 24 At the morning watch, the Lord looked down on the army of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and cloud and brought the army of the Egyptians into confusion. 25 He caused their chariot wheels to swerve, and He made them drive with difficulty; so the Egyptians said, “Let us flee from Israel, for the Lord is fighting for them against the Egyptians.”

26 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea so that the waters may come back over the Egyptians, over their chariots and their horsemen.” 27 So Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its normal state at daybreak, while the Egyptians were fleeing right into it; then the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea. 28 The waters returned and covered the chariots and the horsemen, even Pharaoh’s entire army that had gone into the sea after them; not even one of them remained. 29 But the sons of Israel walked on dry land through the midst of the sea, and the waters were like a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.

30 Thus the Lord saved Israel that day from the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore. 31 When Israel saw the great power which the Lord had used against the Egyptians, the people feared the Lord, and they believed in the Lord and in His servant Moses.

Note 16. READ CAREFULLY. “stretch out your hand.” The power of God was going to be shown in a mighty way. The Jews thought of the great body of water as being an undefeatable enemy. The parting of the Red Sea showed that every force in all of God’s creation was completely under His control. Consider the event of Christ stilling the sea (Mk 4:35-41). The context of this passage is “not” that “God calms the storms of our life.” Even born again believers in Christ will suffer from grave illnesses, will be affected from family loss of life and finances, and will also die. We can consider all of those things to be life’s storms. But, this account more correctly demonstrates Jesus’ unlimited power over the natural world (MacArthur), “even the wind and the sea obey Him,” (v 41). The disciples of Christ who were with Him in the storm will tell others, “I saw Him heal a man crippled all 38 years of his life.” “I saw Him cleanse a leper.” “I saw Him heal a man who was blind and could not speak.” “I saw Him heal a woman who had been suffering from severe bleeding for 12 years.” “I was with Him when He caused a man whom had been dead for four days to come back to life.” “I saw Him heal a man’s ear that been cut off.” “I saw Him calm the wind and waters of a storm that I thought would have caused my death” (Mk 4:35-41). In the case of the Jews at the Red Sea, they saw God part the sea and lead them to safety; they would see all of the pursuing Egyptian soldiers, “dead,” after God caused the water to return to its normal state, “drowning the soldiers, with their bodies seen washed up on the seashore” (v 30). The Jews would never forget this experience. The surviving Egyptians would not be able to deny God’s hand in delivering the Jews from slavery in Egypt.
Note 19. The Angel of God and the pillar of cloud cooperated to protect and lead the Israelites.
Note 20. At night, God confused the Egyptians and let the Israelites pass through the sea.
Note 22. The effects of the wind on the waters was so strong that the ground of passage had become dry!
Note 23. Egyptians pursued. The startled and confused Egyptians pursued the Jews into the Red Sea.
Note 24. The Lord waited until the time was just right. Then He caused confusion to fall among the Egyptians in the morning watch, while it was still dark.
Note 25. The Lord fought for the Israelites.
Note 28. Of all the Egyptian men, horses, and equipment that entered the dry bed of the sea, none survived; the defeat was total. No doubt, some Egyptian soldiers had not actually entered the water and had survived. They would be the ones that would spread the word about Yahweh, the Protector of Israel.

In this defeat of Egypt by God, we see God’s wrath being poured out on a nation that had sewn death on Jewish babies. See the following verses, comments and video.

Exodus 1:16 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
16 and he said, “When you are helping the Hebrew women to give birth and see them upon the birthstool, if it is a son, then you shall put him to death; but if it is a daughter, then she shall live.”

Exodus 1:22 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
22 Then Pharaoh commanded all his people, saying, “Every son who is born you are to cast into the Nile, and every daughter you are to keep alive.”

Egypt sewed death and reaped death.

Galatians 6:7 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.

Consider the sewing of death in the USA. Ungodly Governors are signing into law the legalization of killing unborn babies, even up to the time of birth, and even after a child has been delivered. I will say this to those liberal governors: “you have not been exempted from the wrath of God!”

Consider Virginia’s Democrat Governor, Ralph Northam, explaining: “If a mother is in labor…the infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother.” Watch the video. The Governor is a pediatric neurologist https://www.governor.virginia.gov/about-the-governor/governor-ralph-northam/ Here is a comment from YouTube follower, Mary Grant,”It’s Murder of delivered babies. Why hasn’t the Mainstream news covered this?” I agree with Mary.

Virginia governor Ralph Northam: killing live-born babies should be legal
Make Cringe Great Again, Published on Jan 30, 2019
Please note that:”Virginia Republicans defeated the Democratic bill allowing abortions up until birth.” https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2019/jan/30/va-gop-defeats-bill-allowing-abortions-until-birth/

After voting for abortion up to birth, the New York Senate erupted into a loud applause

Consider,”biogenesis,” as stated by Louis Pasteur. Biogenesis is the production of new living organisms or organelles. Conceptually, biogenesis is primarily attributed to Louis Pasteur and encompasses the belief that complex living things come only from other living things, by means of reproduction. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biogenesis

There are eight states, along with Washington D.C., that have no gestational limits on abortion: Alaska, Colorado, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, and Vermont. Those ungodly governors and state legislators will not escape the wrath of God that will come upon those members who voted to kill babies, or to those ungodly governors who signed those bills into law (Revelation 20:10-15).
https://www.christianpost.com/news/7-states-already-allow-abortion-up-to-birth-not-just-new-york.html
It should not be above “anybody’s pay grade” to know when life begins (“Somebody” actually said that).

Israel 9 – Exodus 14 – Supportive

Consider the following information that relates to the validity of the Red Sea crossing.

Ships in Gulf of Aqaba (Red Sea, Egypt) – Корабли в заливе Акаба (Красное море, Египет).
Notice that in the video of the Gulf of Aqaba (Red Sea), there are large merchant ships that require significant depths of water. Notice the size of the sea. I don’t see any “reeds” in the sea, and I can not understand how the soldiers of Pharaoh’s army could have drowned in a few inches of water, as has been the case for “the reed sea” proponents. Water flows into the Gulf of Aqaba from the Indian Ocean, through the Arabian Sea, through the Gulf of Aden, and through the Red Sea. Sufficient to say, “the water is deep.”
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Red+Sea/@22.2739265,43.9826064,3.95z/data=!4m13!1m7!3m6!1s0x15b91b7a37f530e5:0xbab428a1529071c7!2sRed+Sea!3b1!8m2!3d20.280232!4d38.512573!3m4!1s0x15b91b7a37f530e5:0xbab428a1529071c7!8m2!3d20.280232!4d38.512573 Yogi Berra once said that “when you get to a fork in the road, ‘take it’!” The Red sea forks to the left and becomes the Gulf of Suez; it forks to the right and becomes the Gulf of Aqaba, which is where we have placed our study.

Consider the following subjects that are often treated as myths, by not only the world of unbelievers, but also by many in Jewish and Christian circles. Those subjects of disbelief are: 1. the Creation, and the first eleven chapters of the Book of Genesis, which includes the Noahic worldwide flood. 2. The Book of Daniel. 3. The virgin birth of Christ. 4. The resurrection of Christ. 5. The ascension of Christ to heaven. 6. The second coming of Christ to stand on the earth. 7 The lake of fire. 8. The New Heaven, New Earth and New Jerusalem. 9. And added to those eight subjects of faith in God, and more, we find a lot of unbelief in “the Jewish nation crossing the Red Sea.” The following linked info provide solid evidence that relates to the subject of the Red Sea, aka, Gulf of Aqaba. I will not repeat any of that which has been so clearly provided by the authors of the articles. Please take your time to become familiar with the facts of each article.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gulf_of_Aqaba
The gulf is east of the Sinai Peninsula and west of the Arabian Peninsula. With the Gulf of Suez to the west, it extends from the northern portion of the Red Sea. It reaches a maximum depth of 1,850 m in its central area….

Gulf of Aqaba, GULF, RED SEA, Gulf of Aqaba, Arabic Khalīj al-ʿAqabah, northeastern arm of the Red Sea, penetrating between Saudi Arabia and the Sinai Peninsula. It varies in width from 12 to 17 miles (19 to 27 km) and is 110 miles (177 km) long.

https://www.touristisrael.com/aqaba/16689/
Aqaba has an ideal combination of city-life, beaches and history. The southernmost city in Jordan, Aqaba sits on the northeastern tip of the Red Sea and is surrounded by mountains and desert. Although there is a border between them, Aqaba is in very close proximity to Eilat, Israel’s most southern beach resort city. While the water and beaches draw many people here, the city’s prime location gives visitors access to many amazing attractions in Jordan, including Wadi Rum and the famous lost city of Petra.

The city of Aqaba dates all the way back to 1500 BC. Historians believe the Edomites built the first port in Aqaba and transformed it into a major hub for exchanging goods. Today, the city still values its history and culture. Within Aqaba, travelers can visits mosques, ruins, and museums that tie the city to its people and history.

Moses Rock, a popular coral reef diving site in the Gulf of Aqaba, is home to a wide variety of fish and invertebrates.

(Check the view of the coral reef and the map of the Gulf of Aqaba and the city of Aqaba. The coral reef matches the pictures of the coral reefs that have been shown in prior videos on this subject.)

Tribulation – Judgments! War!

Vietnam War – Music Video – Riders on the Storm – Info from the author of the video, Flying Dutchman – Published on Jan 27, 2018 – Dedicated to the soldiers who fought and died during the Vietnam War. Brave young men who served their country, which many of them never received a “welcome home” or a “thank you” from its country.

In the video we see men of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard. They may be enlistees or draftees. They may be active duty, reserve or national guard. I call them heroes!

The Vietnam War began. Members of the US armed forces, and allies, were called to serve in Vietnam; others were called to support the war effort from neighboring countries. For brevity purposes, I will call the men in the video, “troops.” They are seen wearing helmets, flop hats, tropical fatigues, flak jackets and jungle boots. They are equipped with rifles and ammo belts. They may have fired pistols and machine guns; they may have thrown grenades. Many of the troops were carried to the fight by helicopters. Those wounded were carried by their fellow troops to places where they, and those killed in action, were taken away by the same helicopters. Troops crawled through jungles, walked in water up to their chests, and walked through rice paddies; hard-sole jungle boots protected the troops from hidden punji sticks. Troops were fired upon by the enemy; they returned fire. Tanks and artillery weapons fired on enemy locations further away. Airplanes dropped bombs. Machine gunners on helicopters fired on enemy soldiers. Just prior to the end of the war, helicopters were thrown into the South China Sea so that the enemy could not make use of them. The Vietnam War ended. The youngest of those whom were seen in the video would most likely been born around 1950. Americans wept as they read the names of the war dead on Vietnam memorial walls. https://www.virtualwall.org/iAlpha.htm
I found the names, pictures, and details of death, of two of my friends. One was in the US Army; the other was in the US Marine Corps. Both were born in 1947; both were killed in action in 1968.

In 1969, Look Magazine published an article that showed pictures of the American war dead in Vietnam that had occurred in the previous week. The casualties were males, young men, with most of them being in the age group of less than twenty-three years old; those that were killed that week were about two-hundred twenty-nine in number. Many of the men that were drafted left jobs, homes, families and church fellowships to serve their country.

Another war will come in the future, that may not be “too far distant.” It will have a quick spiritual defeat, that will come at the hands of Christ (Rev 19:15), that comes as a campaign is being carried on by “all who have gone to war against Jerusalem” (Zech 14:12). That war will be known as “the Battle of Armageddon” (Rev 16:16); some have called it “the campaign of Armageddon.” All of the advanced weaponry, and tactics of war, will be brought against the nation of Israel but, to no avail. Christ will be greater than any rifle, rocket or bomb. All of the foes of Israel will die! Their eternity will be in the lake of fire (Rev 20:10-15).

The US involvement in Vietnam was from 1950 until the last US combat troops were withdrawn in 1973; Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon were the commanders in Chief. There were more than 540,000 US troops stationed in South Vietnam in 1967. 58,220 US troops died in the war. During the war in Vietnam War, US forces were stationed in South Vietnam, as well as in other areas of Southeast Asia such as Thailand, Guam, Okinawa and in the Philippines.

The time of the Vietnam War was during that of the Cold War with Russia and its socialist counterparts. Other US troops were stationed at bases throughout the world. While war in Vietnam is largely remembered as a contest between North and South Vietnam, with the United States intervening on behalf of the latter, both factions enjoyed considerable help from a host of other world powers, large and small.
https://militaryhistorynow.com/2013/10/02/the-international-vietnam-war-the-other-world-powers-that-fought-in-south-east-asia/ The total war casualties, of both sides, was 1,273,230, which covers the time period of 1954-1975. Non-combat deaths totaled about 500,000 https://www.historynet.com/vietnam-war

The Tribulation – In the verses of Matthew 24 and 25, Christ is talking to Jews about things that will happen to Jews after the rapture has taken place; only unsaved Jews and Gentiles will remain on the earth during the tribulation. The things that are stated in Matthew 24 are an outline of the time of the future tribulation. The book of Revelation, Chapters 6-19, shows a more detailed account of the things that will happen during the tribulation.

Matthew 24:5-12 New American Standard Bible (vs 9, Tribulation)

5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many. 6 You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. 8 But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.

9 “Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name. 10 At that time many will fall away and will betray one another and hate one another. 11 Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many. 12 Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold.

Let’s look in greater detail at some of the things that will happen on earth during the tribulation. Notice that God is making the things happen that will bring His judgment upon the earth.

Revelation 6:7-8 New American Standard Bible (Seal judgments; severe; 1/4 of mankind killed)

7 When the Lamb broke the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, “Come.” 8 I looked, and behold, an ashen horse; and he who sat on it had the name Death; and Hades was following with him. Authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by the wild beasts of the earth.
.
Revelation 9:13-15 New American Standard Bible (Trumpet judgments; more severe; 1/3 of mankind killed).

13 Then the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, 14 one saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.” 15 And the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released, so that they would kill a third of mankind.

Matthew 24:21 New American Standard Bible (Great Tribulation; consider its severity)

21 For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will.

Revelation 16 New American Standard Version (Bowl judgments; most severe)

1 Then I heard a loud voice from the temple, saying to the seven angels, “Go and pour out on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God.”
12 The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river, the Euphrates; and its water was dried up, so that the way would be prepared for the kings from the east.
16 And they gathered them together to the place which in Hebrew is called Har-Magedon.
21 And huge hailstones, about one hundred pounds each, *came down from heaven upon men;

Revelation 19:11, 19, 21 New American Standard Version (The final assault on Jerusalem ends with all attackers being killed by Christ)

11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. (Christ is the rider)

The war begins. The war ends.

19 And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies assembled to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. (the armies are unsaved international coalition armed forces)

21 And the rest were killed with the sword which came from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse (all unsaved troops, including their unsaved chaplains, will die)

Remember that the above judgments (seals, trumpets and bowls) are poured out on the earth under the authority of God. No church age, born again believers in Christ, will be present while these things are happening.

At the end of the tribulation, the number of military combat deaths will be, “all the peoples who have gone to war against Jerusalem,” (Zech 14:1-3, 12; Rev 19:15, 19-21). The non-combat deaths will include all of those whom do not know Christ as Messiah, and Lord and Savior, whom will be residing in all four corners of the earth Matt 24:29-31 (Jews); 40-41 (Jews); 25:31-34, 41, 46 (Gentiles). The righteous of Mt 25:46 will be those former unbelievers, that were left behind from the rapture, that came to saving faith in Christ during the tribulation; they are known as tribulation saints.

U.S. military personnel will be a part of the ungodly forces at the Battle of Armageddon. All that are present for that battle will be unsaved, including their unsaved chaplains, and will die, and will come under the jurisdiction of the “Great White Throne Judgment,” Rev 20:10-15. The sentence will be “confinement for all of eternity” in the lake of fire. These unsaved tribulation era people, combatant and non-combatant, will never see the Kingdom of God; from their physical location on earth in the tribulation, they will be taken to judgment. The same judgment has been set for everyone, of all times, whomever has not been born again. The remedy is to be born again (John 3:3); to believe in Christ (John 3:16); to have the indwelling Spirit of God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) (John 14:16,17, 20); to be prompted by the Holy Spirit to righteous living (John 15:26-27; 16:7-11); to have an intimate relationship with God, the Father, and God, the Son, being empowered by God, the Holy Spirit (John 17:3).

John 3:3 New American Standard Bible

3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

John 3:16 New American Standard

16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

John 14:16-17,20 New American Standard Bible

16 I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; 17 that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.
20 In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.

John 15:26-27 New American Standard Bible

26 “When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me, 27 and you will testify also, because you have been with Me from the beginning.

John 16:7-11 New American Standard Bible

7 But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. 8 And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment; 9 concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10 and concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father and you no longer see Me; 11 and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.

John 17:3 New American Standard Bible

3 This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

If we have been born again, we know Christ as Lord and Savior. If we know Christ as our Lord and Savior, we have been born again.

During the time that I spent in Thailand and in the Philippines, during the Vietnam War, I remember those times as being times of national unity. We were not a hyphenated nation, we were “Americans.” Consider the unity that is shown in the faces of the following video. Please look very closely; or, you might miss somebody.

Israel 8 – Exodus 12-13

City of New Orleans, Arlo Guthrie – Arlo Guthrie (born July 10, 1947, Brooklyn, New York, USA) is an American folk singer-songwriter. Father of Abe Guthrie, Annie Guthrie, Sarah Lee Guthrie and Cathy Guthrie. Son of folk singer Woody Guthrie, brother of Nora Guthrie and grandfather of Krishna Guthrie.
https://www.discogs.com/artist/153674-Arlo-Guthrie The song was recorded by Arlo Guthrie in 1972, and is about a train, The City Of New Orleans, from Chicago, Illinois, to Memphis, Tennessee, to New Orleans, Louisiana. The distance for the train ride is about 900 miles, and the time for that ride is about nineteen hours. https://www.amtrak.com/city-of-new-orleans-train In this article on the study of Israel, we will see the beginning of its travel through the wilderness, which lasted much more than nineteen hours; the distance is, “beyond me,” but the time for the journey was forty years (Exodus 16:34-36).

Such memorable train routes as, The Orange Blossom Special, The Wabash Special and, of course, The City Of New Orleans, have a certain air of romanticism within their individual histories. The train trips that I have had in my past, have all left me with very pleasant memories. The Orange Blossom Special took me through the middle of beautiful Florida orange groves. “The Wabash Cannon Ball” was a fast express train line [1] on the Wabash Railroad. This express train traveled throughout the middle and western United States and also, on the Great Rock Island Route in the late 1800s and into the early 1900s.[2][3][4] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wabash_Cannonball The Orange Blossom Special was a deluxe passenger train on the Seaboard Air Line Railroad and connecting railroads between New York City and Miami in the United States. It ran during the winter season only. It covered 1,327 miles (2,136 km) on the Pennsylvania Railroad from New York City to Washington, D.C., the Richmond, Fredericksburg and Potomac Railroad from Washington to Richmond, and the Seaboard Air Line Railroad from Richmond via Raleigh, Columbia, and Savannah to Miami. A section also went to Tampa and St. Petersburg. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orange_Blossom_Special_(train)
Some of my followers may have their own special memories of train trips. As a kid, I can not think of any of my friends that did not want a Lionel Train Set. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orange_Blossom_Special_(train)
Btw, my favorite train ride ended at Tampa, Florida, on my way to MacDill AFB.

Israel 8 – Exodus 12-13 – Preliminary

Train travel was not an option for the Israelites as they were rushed out of Egypt by God; they walked. It was on God’s timeline to get His chosen people (Deu 14:2) out of Egypt, in the manner that He did: “God hardened Pharaoh’s heart”(Exodus 4:21; 7:3; 9:12; 10:1, 20, 27; 11:10; 14:4, 8, 17). Consider also, “the king hardened his own heart”(Exodus 7:13, 14, 22; 8:15, 19, 32; 9:7, 34, 35; 13:15). Check out the link to the MacArthur comment: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus+4%3A21&version=NASB Consider also the sovereign timing of God in John 2:4, “My hour has not yet come.” Additionally, as was stated in my article, “The Catching Up! When,?” it will be upon the decision of God as to the time of the catching up of His saints, prior to the tribulation, https://equippingblog.wordpress.com/2019/03/09/the-catching-up-when/
Another example of the timing of God, that is shown in the body of this article (Ex 12:41),”At the end of 430 years, to the very day, all the tribal divisions of the Lord went out from the land of Egypt.”

The year date of this article is 1447 B.C. (Thompson Chain-Reference Bible, Frank Charles Thompson, 1858-May 3, 1940, D.D., Ph.D.). It must be stated again, that all that is happening in these verses is a record of the sovereign actions of God to remove the Jews from Egypt and to lead them to their promised land. The promised land, which will be the possession of the Israelites, after they complete their soon to begin forty-year wilderness journey, will also be the land of the Jews during the yet to come Kingdom Age, in the time of the millennium. The fulfillment of God’s covenant with Abraham is seen in His leading the Jews to their promised land (Genesis 12:1-3; 15:18-21).

Israel 8 – Ongoing

We will continue with our study of Israel, which is not a study of the text, verse by verse or word by word, but an examination of the sovereign actions of God which He made to effect His purposes for Israel. It is very clear that throughout much of the world, to include many churches, there is a great lack of proper respect for “God’s Chosen People.” But, there is great scriptural truth for the fact that the Jews are, “God’s Chosen People.” It is important for born again believers in Christ to place Israel in its proper place of significance which God has placed that nation, to include its people.

The Jews were not abandoned by God (Elohim, Exodus 13:18) after He led them out of Egypt. Neither was God absent from the Presence of Israel on any day of their 40 years of wilderness experience. Neither is God absent from the Presence of Jews, or Israel, at any time in today’s world.

Nehemiah 9:19-21 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

19 You, in Your great compassion, Did not forsake them in the wilderness; The pillar of cloud did not leave them by day,To guide them on their way, Nor the pillar of fire by night, to light for them the way in which they were to go. 20 “You gave Your good Spirit to instruct them, Your manna You did not withhold from their mouth, And You gave them water for their thirst. 21 “Indeed, forty years You provided for them in the wilderness and they were not in want; Their clothes did not wear out, nor did their feet swell.

The biblical text of this article comes from The International Standard Version.

International Standard Bible Version Information

Notes are based on my studies of the men and women whom are listed as sources of information in my Equipping Blog.

Exodus 12:37-42 International Standard Version (ISV) The Exodus Begins

37 About 600,000 Israeli men traveled from Rameses to Succoth on foot, not counting children. 38 A mixed multitude also went up with them, along with a very large number of livestock, including sheep and cattle. 39 They baked the dough that they brought out of Egypt into thin cakes of unleavened bread. It had not been leavened because they were driven out of Egypt and could not wait, nor had they prepared provisions for themselves. 40 Now the time that the Israelis lived in Egypt was 430 years. 41 At the end of 430 years, to the very day, all the tribal divisions of the Lord went out from the land of Egypt. 42 That was for the Lord a night of vigil to bring them out of the land of Egypt. This same night belongs to the Lord, and is to be a vigil for all the Israelis from generation to generation.

Note. Verses 40-41 “four hundred and thirty years.” Abraham had been told that his descendants would be aliens mistreated in a foreign land for 400 years, using a figure rounded to hundreds (Gen. 15:13).

Exodus 12:43-51 International Standard Version (ISV) Instructions for the Passover

43 The Lord told Moses and Aaron, “These are the regulations for the Passover: No foreigner is to eat it, 44 though any slave purchased with money may eat it after you have circumcised him. 45 But no temporary resident or a hired servant is to eat it. 46 It is to be eaten in one house, and you are not to take any of the meat outside the house, nor are you to break any of its bones. 47 The whole congregation of Israel is to observe it. 48 If an alien who resides with you wants to observe the Passover to the Lord, every male in his household must be circumcised, and then he may come near to observe it. He is to be like a native of the land, but no uncircumcised person is to eat it. 49 A single law exists for the native and the alien who resides among you.” 50 All the Israelis did this. They did exactly as the Lord commanded Moses and Aaron. 51 And on that very day, the Lord brought the Israelis out of the land of Egypt by their tribal divisions.

Note. Verse 46 “nor are you to break any of its bones.”
1 Cor 5:7. The death of Christ fulfilled the feast of Passover. Christ is the Christian’s Passover lamb.
1 Corinthians 5:7 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
“7 Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, just as you are in fact unleavened. For Christ our Passover also has been sacrificed.”
John 19:36. The crucified Christ had no bones broken.
John 19:36 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
“36 For these things came to pass to fulfill the Scripture, ‘Not a bone of Him shall be broken.’”

Exodus 13:1-2 International Standard Version (ISV) Consecration of the Firstborn

1 The Lord spoke to Moses, 2 “Consecrate to me every firstborn male. Whatever is the first to open the womb among the Israelis, both of humans and of animals, belongs to me.”

Exodus 13:3-10 International Standard Version (ISV) The Festival of Unleavened Bread

3 Then Moses told the people, “Remember this day on which you came out of Egypt, from the house of bondage, because the Lord brought you out from this place with a strong show of force. Moreover, nothing leavened is to be eaten. 4 Today, in the month of Abib, you are going out. 5 When the Lord brings you to the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, which he swore to your ancestors to give you—a land flowing with milk and honey—you are to observe this ritual in this month. 6 You are to eat unleavened bread for seven days, and on the seventh day there is to be a festival to the Lord. 7 Unleavened bread is to be eaten for seven days, and nothing leavened is to be seen among you, nor is leaven to be seen among you throughout your territory. 8 And you are to tell your child on that day, ‘This is because of what the Lord did for me when I came out of Egypt.’ 9 It is to be a sign for you on your hand and a reminder on your forehead, so that you may speak about the instruction of the Lord; for the Lord brought you out of Egypt with a strong show of force. 10 You are to keep this ordinance at its appointed time from year to year.”

Note. Verses 2–10 This passage is a further explanation that tied the departure of the Jews from Egypt to God’s promise of Israel’s entrance into, and residence in, a new home land. In their new land, there would be an annual seven-day feast observance of the Jews’ departure from their slavery in Egypt. Verses 8 and 16 explain the opportunity, that was not to be overlooked, of parents teaching their children of the significance of God’s faithfulness in freeing the Jews from their Egyptian bondage.

Exodus 13:11-16 International Standard Version (ISV) The Redemption of the Firstborn

11 “When the Lord brings you to the land of the Canaanite and gives it to you, just as he promised you and your ancestors, 12 you are to dedicate to the Lord everything that first opens the womb. All the firstborn males of your livestock belong to the Lord. 13 You are to redeem every firstborn donkey with a lamb, and if you don’t redeem it, you are to break its neck. You are to redeem every firstborn among your sons. 14 Then when your child asks you in the future, ‘What is this?’, you are to say to him, ‘The Lord brought us out of Egypt, from the house of bondage with a strong show of force. 15 And when Pharaoh stubbornly refused to let us go, the Lord killed every firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of humans to the firstborn of animals. Therefore, I sacrifice to the Lord every male that first opens the womb, but I redeem every firstborn of my sons. 16 It is to be a sign on your hand and an emblem on your forehead, because the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a strong show of force.’”

Note. Verse 12 “Dedicate,” (set apart), helps to explain the meaning of consecrate in verse 2. The idea is “to treat as distinct,” as well as to “identify as being special.” The word, “males,” relates to all firstborn.

Exodus 13:17-22 International Standard Version (ISV) God Guides the People in the Desert

17 When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them along the road through the land of the Philistines, even though it was nearer, because God had said, “If the people face war, they may change their minds and return to Egypt.” 18 So God led the people the roundabout way of the desert toward the Reed Sea. The Israelis went up from the land of Egypt in military formation. 19 Moses took the bones of Joseph with him, because Joseph had made the Israelis take this solemn oath: “God will certainly take notice of you, and then you must carry my bones up with you from here.” 20 They left Succoth and camped in Etham at the edge of the desert. 21 The Lord went in front of them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead them along the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so they could travel both day and night. 22 Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people.

Note: Verse 17 See the comments from the MacArthur study note:
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=ex+13%3A17&version=NASB

Note. Verse 21 Consider a pillar of cloud, and a pillar of fire. They would be the means by which God would lead the Jewish people. The cloud by day and fire by night (Ex 14:24) relate to the Angel of God (Ex 14:19; 23:20–23) or the Angel of God’s presence (Isa 63:8, 9). In Ex 3:2, it was the pillar from which the Lord also spoke to Moses.
(Ex 3:2, “The angel,” (mal·’ach, Hebrew), 4397: a messenger, malak: a messenger, Phonetic Spelling: (mal-awk’); “of the LORD,”(Yah·weh, Hebrew), 3068: the proper name of the God of Israel, Yhvh: the proper name of the God of Israel, Phonetic Spelling: (yeh-ho-vaw’).

Israel 8 – Supportive

At 12:36 in the video, we pick up from where our prior article on Israel ends,”Israel 7 – Exodus 5-12.”

Ron Wyatt – The Red Sea Crossing

projectnsearch
Published on Jan 1, 2013
This is the incredible story of Ron Wyatt and how he actually proved the stories of the Bible were correct! In this video, Ron proves everything about The Red Sea Crossing and even found the wheels of the chariots under the water right where God told him to look. He also proved the Bible’s information about Noah’s Ark, the Ark of the Covenant, Mount Sinai and Sodom and Gommorah.

He also found the blood of Jesus Christ that was on the Ark of the Covenant! This information should have been front page news all over the world but has been suppressed by those wishing to deny Jesus.

When Israeli scientists tested the blood for Ron they had never seen anything like it! First the blood was still alive and they could analyze the chromosomes which would have been impossible if this was normal blood. Secondly when they analyzed the blood, they found that it had 23 chromosomes from the mother as was normal but only ONE chromosome from the father! About 90% of the scientists did not believe in God or Jesus Christ before they analyzed this blood. Ron Wyatt reported that every single scientist involved converted to Christianity afterwards!

You can see all of Ron Wyatt’s work and purchase books and videos on this website.

The Catching Up! When?

Mamas and The Papas – Monday Monday (Hollywood Palace, 1966). “Monday, Monday” is a 1966 song written by John Phillips and recorded by “The Mamas & The Papas.” The group was formed by husband and wife John and Michelle Phillips, formerly of the New Journeymen, and Denny Doherty, formerly of the Mugwumps. Both of these earlier acts were folk groups active from 1964 to 1965. The last member to join was Cass Elliot, Doherty’s bandmate in the Mugwumps.

In the song the lyrics are very telling of the subject of this article. Consider the words, “Monday Monday, could you leave and not take me?” There are other words in the song that relate to our “day to day” thoughts of life. Consider what it would be like if suddenly you were missing, and no one could figure out where you went. This same scenario is waiting to happen to millions of people, “and it will happen!” For those whom will be “doing the looking” for their missing loved ones and friends, they will begin a time of life that they will never have thought of, and will face conditions that will be more horrifying than anything that “science fiction” would have never dreamed of!

There is nothing in prophetic studies that tells of things that will precede such an absence of so many people from our world. But, as it relates to the time element that will be required for such an event to occur, we find the following prophetic scripture, “in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye,” (1 Corinthians 15:52). The following video shows what it will be like when “those missing,” will be missing. Notice that the setting in the video is that of a church building! Please understand that the event that is being shown is not that of the second coming of Christ, where He will stand on the earth.

See the following three passages. The catching up of the church is also “the gathering, 2 Thes 2:1).

John 14:3 New Living Translation (NLT)

3 When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.

1 Corinthians 15:52 New Living Translation (NLT)
52 It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 New Living Translation (NLT)

16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. 17 Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever.

Consider the purposes for the catching up of all born again believers in Christ. The believers at the Church in Thessalonica had a fear that “The Day of the Lord” had come, and that they were in “The Day Of The Lord.” They also had a concern that the man of sin (the anti-christ) had been revealed.

2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

Man of Lawlessness

1 Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him,
2 that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit or a message or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come.
3 Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,
4 who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.

Note. vs 1 and 2. The Thessalonian Christians thought that they had missed the event which is shown in the above video. They thought that Christ had already come in the air to catch them up, to take them to the presence of God the Father, which would remove them from the persecution of the anti-christ and the divine judgment of God. These Thessalonians believed that they were living in the time of “the Day of the Lord.”
https://bible.org/seriespage/chapter-8-revelation-man-sin Consider the following verses that relate to the Feast Of Tabernacles, which is a fall feast of the Jews. The feast is also known as the Feast of Booths and the Feast of Ingathering.

The Jewish feast of Ingathering/Tabernacles/Booths: Lev 23:33-43; Ex 23:16-17; Deu 16:13-16; Neh 8:13-18; Num 29:12-40; John 7:2. The feast of tabernacles will fulfillment in Christ in Zech 14:16-19.

Note. vs 3 and 4: The man of sin can not be revealed until there will be an apostasy. The word, “apostasy,” will be discussed to show that it is God, and only God, who is in control of the timing of the catching up of the saints. No person, or persons, by their actions or thoughts, will determine the timing of God, for anything. We will now consult the Lexicon comments of 2 Thessalonians 2:3 which is provided by BibleHub.

2 Thessalonians 2:3 New American Standard 1977
Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction.

NASB Greek Origin
the apostasy ἀποστασία (apostasia) from aphistémi

aphistémi: to lead away, to depart from

868. aphistémi

Strong’s Concordance
aphistémi: to lead away, to depart from
Original Word: ἀφίστημι
Part of Speech: Verb
Transliteration: aphistémi
Phonetic Spelling: (af-is’-tay-mee)
Definition: to lead away, to depart from
Usage: I make to stand away, draw away, repel, take up a position away from, withdraw from, leave, abstain from.

In any Biblical application, the sovereignty of God must be the primary factor of concern.

Psalm 103:19 New American Standard 1977
The LORD has established His throne in the heavens; And His sovereignty rules over all.

Jeremiah 18:6 New American Standard 1977
“Can I not, O house of Israel, deal with you as this potter does?” declares the LORD. “Behold, like the clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel.

In the case of 2 Thes: “vs 2 the Day of the Lord will not come, vs 3 unless the apostasy comes first,” the sovereignty of must MUST be the determining factor.

Day Of The Lord. The Day of the Lord is a period of time in which God will deal with wicked men directly and dramatically in fearful judgment. But the day designated in Scripture as “the day of the Lord” is coming when God will punish human sin, and He will deal in wrath and in judgment with a Christ-rejecting world. One thing we are sure of, that God in His own way will bring every soul into judgment. The Day of the Lord, according to the Old Testament, is a time of God’s judgment and a time of God’s dealing with the world in its sin. The Day of the Lord is also a time of deliverance and blessing for Israel. The millennium—the whole kingdom reign of Christ on earth—in which Christ personally directs the government of the world, is also included in the Day of the Lord. How are Christians related to this judgment? Verse 4 states: “But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.” Christians, of course, do not know when the Day of the Lord is coming either The best explanation is that we will not be here. When the Day of the Lord comes, we will be in glory. https://bible.org/seriespage/chapter-5-day-lord

In creation, we see that everything that God had created was “very good.” (Gen 1:31). After the fall of Adam, and the resulting curse upon the earth, we see that God planned a redemption for His fallen world: ”

Genesis 3:14-15 New American Standard 1977
14 And the LORD God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, Cursed are you more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly shall you go, And dust shall you eat All the days of your life; 15 And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel.”

MacArthur study note:
3:15 After cursing the physical serpent, God turned to the spiritual serpent, the lying seducer, Satan, and cursed him. bruise your head…bruise His heel. Satan could only “bruise” Christ’s heel (cause Him to suffer), while Christ will bruise Satan’s head (destroy him with a fatal blow).

In the New Heaven, New Earth and New Jerusalem, we see the completed work of God that was done because of the fall of Adam in the Garden of Eden. In the Revelation to John, God tells of his continuing work:

Revelation 21:5 New American Standard 1977
“Behold, I am making all things new.”

From the point in time of the creation of the world (Gen 1:31), until the time of its being made new again, it was only God that was “in charge of construction.” Mankind does not have, and will not have, anything to do with the things of God’s sovereignty. In relation to 2 Thessalonians 2:3, it will not be a falling away from the Word of God that will cause God to catch up the born again believers in Christ. Much, to the contrary, it will be the sole decision of God (Father, Son, Holy Spirit), that will be responsible for the catching up of the saints taking place. Consider two of the most convincing proofs that tell of the saints, “whom will be missing.” From the Lexicon we find the Greek word “868.maphistémi,” “to lead away, to depart from.”

Consider a sheep pen that is full of sheep, and that they are under the care of their Shepherd.

John 19:2-4 New American Standard 1977
2 “He who enters by the door is a shepherd of the sheep. 3 “To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out. 4. “When he puts forth all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice.

868 “to lead away.” Christ will lead all of His born again believers out of the sheep pen of earth.
868 “to depart from.” Through the leading of Christ, all of His born again believers will depart from the sheep pen of the world.

In both instances of 868, it will be the rapture of the church that will be the tool that Christ will use to remove His believers from this world, and then take them to the third heaven, to the Presence of God the Father (2 Cor 5:10).

Consider the purposes for the catching up of the born again believers in Christ. The believers at the Church in Thessalonica had a fear that “The Day of the Lord” had come, and they were concerned that they were in “The Day Of The Lord.” The following information was drawn from a discussion that was provided by
Dr. David Reagan and Nathan E. Jones on a special television episode of Christ in Prophecy.

The Four Purposes for the Tribulation

The signs of the times indicate that we are on the threshold of the Tribulation, a time of unparalleled carnage that will befall the earth. The earth will plunge into a period of time that the Bible describes will be the most horrific period in all of human history.

What is the Tribulation, and what are its purposes?

One of the names the Bible gives for the coming worst time period in all of human history is the Tribulation.

It is because of the time of tribulation that will come upon the earth, that the born again believers in Christ will be removed from the earth. It will be God’s decision to bring upon the earth, the oppressive acts of the anti-christ, and the judgments of God (Rev 6:1-19:21). Consider the four purposes.

The first purpose for the Tribulation concerns the wrath of God. God’s anger has reached the lip of the cup. God’s very nature is patience, but His wrath will eventually pour out when His anger has finally reached its limit. God’s anger will finally consume the world in what the Bible calls the Day of the Lord. So, the first purpose involves the punishment for the world’s sin.

The second purpose for the Tribulation concerns bringing a remnant of the Jewish people back to know God and His Son, Jesus, as their Messiah.

The third purpose for the Tribulation involves the Gentiles, for they too will come to know the Lord as their Savior.

The fourth reason for the Tribulation, I think, is also the paramount reason for the Tribulation — Jesus returns. I am talking about Christ’s Second Coming. Jesus finally comes back to earth. When Jesus returns, He defeats Satan and the Antichrist, and He sets up His Millennial Kingdom for a thousand years.

(end of program)

Consider the things that will happen after the born again believers in Christ have been caught up from this earth, and the tribulation begins. All of these things will happen because of God’s plan, and because of the reasons that are stated in the Old Testament of the Bible, as follows.

Jeremiah 30 discusses the tribulation (586 B.C., Thompson Chain Reference Bible).

Jeremiah 30:7 New American Standard 1977
‘Alas! for that day is great, There is none like it; And it is the time of Jacob’s distress, But he will be saved from it.

Daniel 9 discusses the tribulation (539 B.C., Thompson Chain Reference Bible).

Daniel 9:20-23 New American Standard 1977
20 Now while I was speaking and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God in behalf of the holy mountain of my God, 21 while I was still speaking in prayer, then the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision previously, came to me in my extreme weariness about the time of the evening offering. 22 And he gave me instruction and talked with me, and said, “O Daniel, I have now come forth to give you insight with understanding. 23 “At the beginning of your supplications the command was issued, and I have come to tell you, for you are highly esteemed; so give heed to the message and gain understanding of the vision.

Daniel 9:24 is the beginning verse of scripture that relates the tribulation to the Jews and Israel.

New Living Translation

24 “A period of seventy sets of seven has been decreed for your people and your holy city to finish their rebellion, to put an end to their sin, to atone for their guilt, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to confirm the prophetic vision, and to anoint the Most Holy Place.

The church, and believers in Christ, did not come into being until the year 30 A.D. (Ryrie Study Bible). Acts Chapter 2 shows the birthday of the church.
2 Corinthians was written in 56 A.D. (Ryrie Study Bible).
2 Cor 5:21 states that Christ became sin, so that believers in Christ will become the righteousness of Christ. Notice that Christ did not become a sinner; He became “sin” so that He could pay the sin debt, that born again believers would have to pay, had they not been born again.
Romans 8:1 states that there is no condemnation for those whom are in Christ. By being born again (John 3:3), such a person has a spirit that is as perfect as the Spirit of Christ. Anyone whom has been born again, literally has their spirit dwelling within the Spirit of Christ (John 14:20).

Summing it up, God does not have a problem with anyone whose Spirit is as perfect and sinless as that of the Spirit of God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). The primary purpose for the Tribulation is for Jews whom have not been born again, to be born again, to accept Christ as Messiah. Until that happens, Jews, and Gentiles, whom have not been born again, “are sin.” They need Christ to pay their sin debt; and, He will, pay their sin debt, as soon as they accept Him as Lord and Savior (John 3:16-18). Eternal life for each person begins at the time of the new birth, which is the acceptance of Christ as Lord and Savior (John 17:3).

In future articles, we will discuss more about the anti-christ and the tribulation, the millennium and the eternal state. The following video shows the conditions of the world that will be present after the catching up of the born again believers in Christ occurs. There will be no babies or young children left on planet earth. There will be no people left on earth whom have been born again. There will be no people left on the earth that were not able to make a decision to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior. The subject of the new birth and the rapture of the church is a serious one. John 3:3, “you must be born again!”

Israel 7 – Exodus 5-12

♪ Up, Up and Away is a 1967 song written by Jimmy Webb and recorded by The 5th Dimension, that became a major pop hit, reaching #7 on the U.S. Pop Singles. The singers, Billy Davis Jr., Florence LaRue, Marilyn McCoo, Lamonte McLemore, and Ronald Townson, sang a song of people being caught up in the clouds. The thought of anyone being “caught up in the clouds,” is more than a mere thought. As was stated in our last Israel article, Enoch was “caught up,” but to be taken to the Presence of God. Such an event can only be described as being “Divinely orchestrated!” (God “took” Enoch to heaven, Genesis 5:24.) The events of Israel’s history, and of her “yet to happen” future, can best be described as being a series of miraculous events that God performed, for “His purposes, for “His chosen people” (Deuteronomy 14:2). This article will begin with another miraculous “catching up” event of the Jewish prophet, Elijah. We will proceed from the catching up of Elijah to a study of the miraculous events that God performed to remove Israel from their place of bondage in Egypt.

Israel 7 – Exodus 5-12 – Preliminary

2 Kings 2:1-12 – NASB – Elijah Taken Up to Heaven – Context
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2+kings+2%3A1-12&version=NASB

Specific verse of Elijah being taken up to heaven:

VS 11: As they were going along and talking, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire and horses of fire which separated the two of them. And Elijah went up by a whirlwind to heaven.

Parallel Translations, Verse 11:

NIV: Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind.
NLT: Elijah was carried by a whirlwind into heaven.
ESV: Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
KJV: Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
CSB: Elijah went up into heaven in the whirlwind.
NET: Elijah went up to heaven in a windstorm.
HCSB: Elijah went up into heaven in the whirlwind.
NASB: Elijah went up by a whirlwind to heaven.
NAS 1977: Elijah went up by a whirlwind to heaven.
DARBY 1890: Elijah went up by a whirlwind into the heavens.
GENEVA 1599: Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

Based on the wording of the above translations, it is very clear that the Jewish prophet, Elijah, was taken up to heaven by God, and did so without experiencing death. New Testament comparisons of the same experience can be found in John 14:1-6; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, 1 Corinthians 15:50-54. Information about the Jewish Prophet Elijah can be found in the follow article that was published by Chabad.org, which is a Jewish organization (not Messianic Jewish).

https://www.chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/111833/jewish/Elijah-the-Prophet.htm

In the opening of this article, and the last post about Israel, we discussed the miraculous power of God in lifting His people up, from this earth, to heaven. In the closing of this article, we will discuss the miraculous power of God in making it possible for His people to cross a large body of water that has a floor of more than a mile below its surface. A normal question may be: (1) How could the fleeing Israelites (some very old and some very young, and some in very poor health and some in very good health), walk downward from the edge of the shore, a distance of 5500 feet, and then walk upward, a distance of 5500 feet, onto the far shore? Another reasonable question may be: (2) What happened to the possessions of the Egyptians, whom were pursuing the Israelites? These Egyptians were drowned by the same water that had been opened by God to allow the Israelites to flee to safety on the opposite shore from where they began their water crossing. Answers to these questions are considered in the closing video of this article.

Israel – Ongoing.

The miracles of God, in His deliverance of Israel from Egypt, continue in the following verses.

Let my people go (vs 1). I will not let Israel go (vs 2)

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=ex+5%3A1-9&version=NASB

Exodus 5:1-9 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

Israel’s Labor Increased

1 And afterward Moses and Aaron came and said to Pharaoh, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘Let My people go that they may celebrate a feast to Me in the wilderness.’” 2 But Pharaoh said, “Who is the Lord that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know the Lord, and besides, I will not let Israel go.” 3 Then they said, “The God of the Hebrews has met with us. Please, let us go a three days’ journey into the wilderness that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God, otherwise He will fall upon us with pestilence or with the sword.” 4 But the king of Egypt said to them, “Moses and Aaron, why do you draw the people away from their work? Get back to your labors!” 5 Again Pharaoh said, “Look, the people of the land are now many, and you would have them cease from their labors!” 6 So the same day Pharaoh commanded the taskmasters over the people and their foremen, saying, 7 “You are no longer to give the people straw to make brick as previously; let them go and gather straw for themselves. 8 But the quota of bricks which they were making previously, you shall impose on them; you are not to reduce any of it. Because they are lazy, therefore they cry out, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to our God.’ 9 Let the labor be heavier on the men, and let them work at it so that they will pay no attention to false words.”

Moses and Aaron confront the Pharaoh, demanding the release of the Hebrew people. Pharaoh only increases the workload for the Israelites. God responds by inflicting a series of ten plagues on Egypt. Before each plague, Moses demands the Israelites’ release, and after each plague, God purposefully “hardens” Pharaoh so that he refuses the request (4:21, 7:22). The plagues are shown in Exodus 7:14-12:36. The year date of the plagues was 1447 B.C. (Thompson Chain-Reference Bible, Frank Charles Thompson, 1858-May 3, 1940, D.D., Ph.D.). The plagues outline comes from the Ryrie Study Bible, Dr. Charles Caldwell Ryrie, 1925-2016, Th.M., Ph.D.). It is important to know that all that is happening through these sovereign actions of God is to remove the Jews from Egypt and to lead them to their promised land.

Before the plague, Moses instructs the Hebrew people to cover their door posts in the blood of a sacrificed lamb as a sign for God to protect their homes from His killings. Pharaoh relents and releases the more than 600,000 Israelites who, in turn, plunder the Egyptians’ wealth.

Israel – Supportive.

A video view of the land in the study of Exodus is provided in the following video and discussion. It is clear that God provided for the exodus of the Israelites in a plan that He devised in eternity past. It is also clear that God led the Israelites to the place of their “Red Sea Crossing,”and that it was not just by “happenstance” that the Jews “stumbled across” the proper place to cross the sea.

As we have been going through this wilderness study of Israel, we have been using a video tape series of discussions that show the terrain, and other natural land marks, that affected the travel of the children of Israel (Israel=Jacob, the son of Isaac, the son of Abraham). The six part study is called, “The Real Mount Sinai.”

Dr Bryant G. Wood, B.S., M.S., M.A., Ph.D. is the leader of the series of videos, The Real Mount Sinai.” I think that you will come away from this video series, having gained a lot of good food for thought. You will notice that this video series has not necessarily aligned up with each article, but has added content that is valuable to this overall series of articles that we are studying. Check the bio on Dr. Wood: https://creation.com/dr-bryant-g-wood
