Jesus and Nicodemus
1 There was a Jewish leader named Nicodemus, who belonged to the party of the Pharisees. 2 One night he went to Jesus and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher sent by God. No one could perform the miracles you are doing unless God were with him.”
3 Jesus answered, “I am telling you the truth: no one can see the Kingdom of God without being born again.”
4 “How can a grown man be born again?” Nicodemus asked. “He certainly cannot enter his mother’s womb and be born a second time!”
5 “I am telling you the truth,” replied Jesus, “that no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. 6 A person is born physically of human parents, but is born spiritually of the Spirit. 7 Do not be surprised because I tell you that you must all be born again. 8 The wind blows wherever it wishes; you hear the sound it makes, but you do not know where it comes from or where it is going. It is like that with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
9 “How can this be?” asked Nicodemus.
10 Jesus answered, “You are a great teacher in Israel, and you don’t know this? 11 I am telling you the truth: we speak of what we know and report what we have seen, yet none of you is willing to accept our message. 12 You do not believe me when I tell you about the things of this world; how will you ever believe me, then, when I tell you about the things of heaven? 13 And no one has ever gone up to heaven except the Son of Man, who came down from heaven.”
14 As Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the desert, in the same way the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15 so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life. 16 For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to be its judge, but to be its savior.
18 Those who believe in the Son are not judged; but those who do not believe have already been judged, because they have not believed in God’s only Son. 19 This is how the judgment works: the light has come into the world, but people love the darkness rather than the light, because their deeds are evil. 20 Those who do evil things hate the light and will not come to the light, because they do not want their evil deeds to be shown up. 21 But those who do what is true come to the light in order that the light may show that what they did was in obedience to God.
1 Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews; 2 this man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.” 3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
4 Nicodemus *said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he?” 5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
9 Nicodemus said to Him, “How can these things be?” 10 Jesus answered and said to him, “Are you the teacher of Israel and do not understand these things? 11 Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know and testify of what we have seen, and you do not accept our testimony. 12 If I told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13 No one has ascended into heaven, but He who descended from heaven: the Son of Man. 14 As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; 15 so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life.
16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. 18 He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.”

Jesus Goes to the Temple
13 It was almost time for the Passover Festival, so Jesus went to Jerusalem. 14 There in the Temple he found people selling cattle, sheep, and pigeons, and also the moneychangers sitting at their tables. 15 So he made a whip from cords and drove all the animals out of the Temple, both the sheep and the cattle; he overturned the tables of the moneychangers and scattered their coins; 16 and he ordered those who sold the pigeons, “Take them out of here! Stop making my Father’s house a marketplace!” 17 His disciples remembered that the scripture says, “My devotion to your house, O God, burns in me like a fire.”
18 The Jewish authorities came back at him with a question, “What miracle can you perform to show us that you have the right to do this?”
19 Jesus answered, “Tear down this Temple, and in three days I will build it again.”
20 “Are you going to build it again in three days?” they asked him. “It has taken forty-six years to build this Temple!”
21 But the temple Jesus was speaking about was his body. 22 So when he was raised from death, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the scripture and what Jesus had said.
Jesus’ Knowledge of Human Nature
23 While Jesus was in Jerusalem during the Passover Festival, many believed in him as they saw the miracles he performed. 24 But Jesus did not trust himself to them, because he knew them all. 25 There was no need for anyone to tell him about them, because he himself knew what was in their hearts.
13 The Passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14 And He found in the temple those who were selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers seated at their tables. 15 And He made a scourge of cords, and drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen; and He poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables; 16 and to those who were selling the doves He said, “Take these things away; stop making My Father’s house a place of business.” 17 His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for Your house will consume me.” 18 The Jews then said to Him, “What sign do You show us as your authority for doing these things?” 19 Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” 20 The Jews then said, “It took forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?” 21 But He was speaking of the temple of His body. 22 So when He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He said this; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken.
23 Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name, observing His signs which He was doing. 24 But Jesus, on His part, was not entrusting Himself to them, for He knew all men, 25 and because He did not need anyone to testify concerning man, for He Himself knew what was in man.

Lest I be misunderstood, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

What is Shabbat? Shabbat (the Jewish Shabbath) is a weekly 25-hour observance that begins just before sundown each Friday and ends at nightfall on Saturday. Shabbat is a dedicated time each week to stop working and focus more on the pleasures of life.

IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT! Read the following chronology carefully.
The reason for the following chronology, describing the movement of the descendants of Noah throughout the world, is to show that only the covenant descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob became Jews, and were the only people whom were given the Law, to include the Sabbath.
Prior to the time of the Jews’ exodus from Egypt, people had already migrated from Siberia into North America. The significance of this information is that those migrates would have never been exposed to the Mosaic Law, and to its Torah requirements, to include the requirements of Sabbath rest.
The following chronology is that of the bloodline of Noah to Shem to Abraham (Genesis 5:32, 10:1, 11:11-26), and of the descendants of Abraham. After the flood (Gen 7:11-13; 21-22) God told Noah’s sons, “Shem, Ham and Japheth,” to replenish the earth (Gen 9:1, 18; 10:1, 2348 B.C.). Abraham fathered Ishmael (Genesis 16:15, 1911 B.C.) and Isaac (Genesis 17:21, 1898 B.C.), who would be Abraham’s covenant son. The Arab nations are of the seed of Ishmael; the Israelites are of the covenant seed of Isaac. Therefore, the Jews are God’s chosen people (Deuteronomy 14:2). Therefore, the Law and the Sabbath relate to the Israelites, whom became known as Jews, and only to the Jews/Israelites. However, there are moral laws of God that are found in the Law, which relate to everyone, such as murder (Exodus 20:13), adultery (Exodus 20:14) and homosexuality (Leviticus 18:22), with eternal punishment for those whom maintain such lifestyles that are not of God’s design, permission or acceptance (1 Cor 6:9-10….11).
Japheth’s and Shem’s descendants found their way into the northern regions we now call Russia, Alaska, Canada, North and South America … Native Americans, Eskimos began settling the regions called Alaska, Canada, and the Americas around 2000 BC. The Israelites/Jews/ of this study are the covenant Shemites, through the bloodline of Abraham, through his covenant son Isaac, and through his grandson Jacob (Gen 25:26, born 1800 B.C., who became known as Israel, Genesis 32:28, 1739 B.C.).

2:1–3 These words affirm that God had completed His work. Four times it is said that He finished His work, and 3 times it is said that this included all His work. Present processes in the universe reflect God sustaining that completed creation, not more creation (cf. Heb. 1:3).
2:2 ended…rested. God certainly did not rest due to weariness; rather, establishing the pattern for man’s work cycle, He only modeled the need for rest. Later, the Sabbath ordinance of Moses found its basis in the creation week (cf. Ex. 20:8–11). The Sabbath was God’s sacred ordained day in the weekly cycle. Jesus said, “The Sabbath was made for man…” (Mark 2:2) and Gen. 2:3 stated that God “sanctified” or set apart the Sabbath day because He rested in it. Later, it was set aside for a day of worship in the Mosaic law (see note on Ex. 20:8). Hebrews 4:4 distinguishes between physical rest and the redemptive rest to which it pointed. Colossians 2:16 makes it clear that the Mosaic “Sabbath” has no symbolic or ritual place in the New Covenant. The church began worshiping on the first day of the week to commemorate the resurrection of Christ (Acts 20:7).
Consider the Law.
The Sabbath was first celebrated in scripture, in 1491 B.C., and was celebrated only by the Jews.
16:4 The LORD (Yah·weh, 3068: the proper name of the God of Israel) prepared the Jews for six days of work, then a sabbath day of rest. The Sabbath will be a holy Sabbath to the Lord, and a gift from God to the Jews. 16:12 “I am the Lord your God.” LORD (Yah·weh); God (Elohim).
Exodus 16:4-5, 22-23 (NASB)
4 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a day’s portion every day, that I may test them, whether or not they will walk in My instruction. 5 On the sixth day, when they prepare what they bring in, it will be twice as much as they gather daily.”…22 Now on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for each one. When all the leaders of the congregation came and told Moses, 23 then he said to them, “This is what the Lord meant: Tomorrow is a sabbath observance, a holy sabbath to the Lord. Bake what you will bake and boil what you will boil, and all that is left over put aside to be kept until morning.”
The Sabbath was announced by Moses to the Jews, and only to the Jews. The Sabbath arrives, and is observed by the Jews, and only by the Jews.
Exodus 16:24-26 (NASB) 25 Moses said, “Eat it today, for today is a sabbath to the Lord; today you will not find it in the field. 26 Six days you shall gather it, but on the seventh day, the sabbath, there will be none.”
The Sabbath is a gift by God to the Jews, and only to the Jews.
Exodus 16:29 (NASB) 29 See, the Lord has given you the sabbath; therefore He gives you bread for two days on the sixth day. Remain every man in his place; let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.” 30 So the people rested on the seventh day.
The Sabbath is a sign between God and the Jews, and only the Jews.
Exodus 31:16-17 (NASB) 16 So the sons of Israel shall observe the sabbath, to celebrate the sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant.’ 17 It is a sign between Me and the sons of Israel forever; for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, but on the seventh day He ceased from labor, and was refreshed.”
Exodus 31:18 (NASB) 18 When He had finished speaking with him upon Mount Sinai, He gave Moses the two tablets of the testimony, tablets of stone, written by the finger of God.
The giving of the Law to the Jews, and only to the Jews (1491 B.C.).
The original Hebrew title of this third book of the law is taken from the first word, translated “And He called.” The opening and closing words of thee book of Leviticus show God’s law for the Jews to, “comply with,” thereby creating the term, “Torah Compliant.” No one is Torah complaint without complying with all of the Law, which points out the fact that following the Law involves much more than Sabbath worship.
James 2:10 (NASB) 10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.
Leviticus 1:1-2 (NASB) 1 Then the Lord called to Moses and spoke to him from the tent of meeting, saying, 2 “Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them,
Leviticus 27:34 (NASB) 34 These are the commandments which the Lord commanded Moses for the sons of Israel at Mount Sinai.
All of the commands to the Jews in the Book of Leviticus, as well as the other books of the Torah, are commands that must be followed for a Jew to be Torah compliant. The following examples of the Torah law should show that being Torah complaint can not be attained. Also, salvation does not come through the law (John 3:16-18). However, if anyone think that he, or she, is keeping the law, the following Torah requirements should shed light on that subject. Please notice that not all chapters of Leviticus are listed.
As you can determine, the Law contains more than the Ten Commandments. Consider the 613 Torah Laws. The following is a brief listing of the 613 commandments (mitzvot), as recorded and classified by Maimonides in the 12th century. Conclusion.
Salvation is through the Jews:
John 4:22 (NASB) 22 “…for salvation is from the Jews.”
The Jew through whom salvation is provided is Christ:
John 1:29 (NASB) 29 The next day he *saw Jesus coming to him and *said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
Honoring the Seventh Day – My goal is to “Remember the Sabbath Day to keep it Holy.”
Believers in Christ are not required to worship on the Sabbath, but there should be an honor and appreciation for the Sabbath. God made the Sabbath; He made the Sabbath Holy. No one can move the Sabbath to any other day of the week to meet their own desires. The Sabbath will always begin on Friday at sunset, and will always last until the following Saturday at sunset. Nothing will ever change that Godly-ordained time of each week from being the seventh day of the week. There is no such thing as a Christian Sabbath, other than for Christians to honor the seventh day of God’s creation.
Sabbath Worship/The Law – Christ has fulfilled all of the requirements of the Law.
Matthew 5:17-18 (NASB) 17 “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. 18 For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.
The work of Christ for salvation for all “whom accept Him as Lord and Savior,” was completed on the cross:
John 19:30 (NASB) 30 Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.
